Re: Cotto, Margarito almost official!
Still too bad they are not fighting eachother. I would have preferred a bout of Cotto-Margarito over all of the bouts on the card combined!

Agreed...but I'm pretty sure that this is the set up match to hype the fight.
Re: Cotto, Margarito almost official!
Would have rather liked if it was
Cotto vs. Margarito
and
Quintana vs. Clottey
Better card imo

True...but most casuals don't know Margarito, Quintana, or Clottey...casuals know Cotto. I get a buncha hillbillies & necks coming in to my work that have seen Cotto & give him much respect...& they don't know about boxing wortha fwock.
Cotto does bring excitement...& this will be a good presser for the future winners.

Yeah thats true. But I think Quintana vs. Clottey is a battle of prospects who are on the cusp of being world contenders(their next fight) what better way then to have them fight each other.
Rather then risk that they will both be in over their heads against the main eventers?
Let the main eventers fight each other and let the undercarders fight each other.
Know what I mean?

Disagree...again...Margarito is known only in our circles. Credit where it is due...Showtime's SNF's really draw a lot of viewers & the way that throw out all those girls ass & that theme song...you'd be surprised with their count number.

That shit works on us menzes... ;D

I see your point.
But more people have seen Margarito then have seen Clottey. So it can work both ways.
Re: Cotto, Margarito almost official!
Excellent card in my opinion. It would not make sense to put Cotto in with a monster like Tony in his first fight at 147. And I would not call Quintana a prospect anymore,he's had more than a few fights and has a great style.
I think it is excellent work by Arum, and he has already mentioned that there will be a unification between the 2 later down the line if they win. This fight will increase Tony's popularity/increase his exposure more and I disagree,I think more and more casual fans are getting to know him.Hopefully it's only a matter of time before he becomes known to most casual fans,he has an exciting style.
