Skelton v Fraudley - 09 December
And so this is it....the massive fight that Matt Skelton decided to take instead of a World title fight against Oleg Maskaev. The barnstorming moneymaker that will make both these fellows household names. Excuse me for my sarcasm, but I just think Skelton has dropped the ball on this one big time.
For Audley, this is clearly a very good fight for him. He takes on a 39 year old brawler turned boxer, and not a very convinving boxer at that, for his old belt. The fact that he ever held the belt at all is really a sad indictment of what that title has become, a stepping stone.
For Skelton, he seems to believe that the Commonwealth strap is, however, the pinnacle of his career, and has settled never to have a world title shot, or that he will be to old when that shot comes around, and he needs all the money he can when it does. In general, a very disappointing choice for Matt Skelton and a final crack at some sort of credibility for Fraudley, which he certainly doesn't deserve.
Roll on the saviour of the British heavyweight division....jsut make it soon.

Re: Skelton v Fraudley - 09 December
this has the makingings of a snoozer...
but im just not too sure it will be... Audley's had the taste of the money and fans given to him on a plate by the BBC without having to prove himself in the pro ring.
that has all gone and he may just be hungry enough to want it back.
if he sucks in this fight its over rover... and he knows it ;)

I think it's a bit harsh to say he has dropped the ball on this one, did you read Warren's news of the world article? Apparently the offer from Russia was pathetic, what would you do travel to Russia get paid for your air fare and a bit of change, or fight for £100k or so on prime time tv? Skelton knows his limitations he probably has less than 20% chance of winning in Russia, but he is 39 and the money for a guy with his talent is obviously and id say for a man in his situation in it for the money, i dont blame him for that and it's easy for me and you to say be a man go to Russia fight for the World Title? But what happens if he gets knocked out looks horrible where does he go from there?
Re: Skelton v Fraudley - 09 December
well, go to russia, the risk is higher but so is the reward. Lose to Audley, where does he go? Win, only his bank balance is better off (minus management fees of course).

Yes his bank balance, he will not win in Russia, he wont knock him out he wont win on the score cards, imo he has made an ok division i cant hold that against him.

Well, fair play for holding to your guns, but surely as a Skelton fan you would have been made up seeing him get a world title shot? To see him get in the ring for a world title, hell, I'd have been drooling to see a brit heavy get a title shot for the first time in a while. But Audley....doesn't get the blood going does it, it doesn't strike me as a possible firecracker of a fight. If Matt goes back to his brawling roots, he should take it at a canter IMO.
Re: Skelton v Fraudley - 09 December
Audley get's KO'd inside 3 rounds
He just is not a fighter.
Yeah he can box,but fighting....FORGET IT.
One hard punch from Skelton and he'll melt like the pussy he is ;)

Maybe, do you reckon that Skelton might come in thinking he's the boxer again, as he did against Williams, because I reckon that would just give the fight to Audley. Skelton has to go in there to destroy Audley, and if that is his mindset...he will.
Re: Skelton v Fraudley - 09 December
He'll do it with ease ;)
Audrey own brother can't stand him... ;D
He don't even fight,he does my f*cking head in.
Thats what his bro Rodney told me in the pub a few weeks ago :-\

It's a good point mate but audley seemed to freeze up against danny williams. I think skelton will initiate the attacks but will audley show some heart and fight back.

It is hard to believe that someone who won Olympic gold has managed to achieve so little in his professional career. Who knows, he might finally live up to his promise and maybe show some heart. If he was going to show it, it probably would have been during one of his previous defeats, but who knows, he may have something else left that he hasn't shown so far.
Re: Skelton v Fraudley - 09 December
Matt definetely will KO deFraudeley. This guy Matt for his 40th year is 2x in better conditions. Danny has beaten Fraud, Matt beaten Danny after a dodgy rematch. That shows everything for me.
Re: Skelton v Fraudley - 09 December
probably wil be like watching paint dry but i will watch it.
come on skelton
Re: Skelton v Fraudley - 09 December
I can't believe that Warren is inflicting the spineless conman, 'Parcel Force' Harrison on the paying British fight fan again! >:mad
Is anybody actually going to pay to see him stink the arena out AGAIN? :badass: :zzwhip: :cwm15:
