hatton
i think hatton. why do u think hatton.
I think Cotto could actually outbox Hatton and KO him late. (Just my opinion, I'm sure you guys will jump my shit though)
No way anyone with some respect would jump all over it, I've always said that Cotto has a great chance at beating Hatton. I'd say if the faught 5 times it would be 4-1 to Hatton. Its just that Cotto seems to struggle to keep a pace all 12 rounds, Malignaggi pushed him extremely hard, and he's not known for a pressure fighting style, Cotto would probably win rounds against hatton, but if he couldn't get that late KO then I think he'd be in trouble. Although saying that, Cotto loves a brawl, i.e vs Torres and if he did that, i think Hatton would knock him out. He always has that awesome left hook which gets results, if he could get some of them on Hatton's beard it could be good night. But no one has looked even close to doing that, ( Collazo and Magee are both southpaws) so I think Hatton would win. But Cotto is probably as dangerous to Hatton as Floyd. Either one of those 2 could take hatton's 0Quote:

I think what it would come down to is: can Hatton take out Cotto's body before Cotto breaks Hatton's jaw?Quote:

Very tough fight. I give Cotto the slight edge as i think he would be able to outbox Hatton if he remained focused. If not Hatton would stop Cotto.
I have to give the edge to Cotto. I believe Cotto hits harder. Cotto can box, though his style has changed over the last year and a half to the "come forward style." Cotto can fight moving backwards. Hatton cuts oh so easily. Late round TKO because of cuts (have you seen what Cotto does to people's faces, not to mention ribs?).
Cotto does not throw enough punches in a round for it to be a 'clear cotto' win.
He has a great KO ratio and can bang - but Hatton has a great set of whiskers and throws more punches.
Hatton would know Cotto would be fiendishly strong upto round 5 and would probably opt to box and spoil like he did against Ben Tackie (a superb boxing display by Hatton) - as Tackie came at him throwing bombs, Hatton fought excellantly off the back foot, which is something he has neglected of late, but can certainly do.
From 5 onwards, Hatton would start to come on stronger and start going through the gears, upping the tempo as Cotto's stamina started failing him.
Ultimately, i see Cotto being shaken in the late rounds as he tires and losing on points.
The only place they'll fight now is WW so it will be interesting to see how Cotto looks in that weight first. Cotto has a tougher task in Quintana than Hatton did in Collazo and I'm still not convinced that he's gonna win that one. Either way, it looks like Cotto gonna be pitching to a tough lineup for the next couple of years so we'll find out alot soon.
Before the Maliginanni fight I would have given it a toss up but....IMO I think Hatton would beat him...Cotto had a hard time against a kid who has skill but can't break wind with a punch...And who was hurt...
I like Cotto in this match up. Hatton has never faced anyone like Cotto, but then again Cotto has never faced anyone like Hatton. I just picked Cotto because I like watching his fights more than Hattons.
