Press Release: On Saturday October 7, 2006 heavyweight contender Monte Barrett will fight for the WBA title against Nicolai Valuev wearing pink Everlast boxing gloves in support of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). Everlast announced it will donate to BCRF 5% from the sale of every pair of its pink boxing gloves sold through sporting goods retailers such as Target, Modell's and Dick's Sporting Goods, to name a few. Everlast's Seth Horowitz explains, “We are extremely proud to have Monte wear our pink Everlast gloves this Saturday night in honor of such an important cause. Monte has a longstanding relationship with Everlast and it means a lot to all the parties involved to have him support The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.” This Saturday night, Queens , New York native Monte Barrett will lace up his pink Everlast gloves and battle his larger-than-life opponent, WBA Heavyweight Champion Nikolai Valuev from Russia , HBO will air the bout live from Allstate Arena in Rosemont , Ill. on HBO at 10:00 PM ET / 7:00 PM PT.
It's hard NOT to root for Barrett right now.

And I looked at boxrec to compare this with the weights of their last fights.
Barrett is lighter and Valuev is the highest up in weight he's ever been since reportedly 1997.
So Barrett has come in shape, and Valuev, this may be his kind of "shape" . But I want to root for Barrett, I really do. But something is telling me that Don King wouldn't have picked Barrett after a year off with any other intention then him losing

It's funny how Don King has all this America stuff on and what not but seems like he's rooting for Valuev.

Well, at least there will be something entertaining about Barrett's beatdown tomorrow. The important thing is that he is using his time in the spotlight to raise awareness for an important issue. Just like that guy who had "The Sun" on the bottom of his boots when he fought Tyson.

but on the REALZ ill admit ill be watching cuz just like many of u on this here site we've never actually seen Valuev fight. we only heard from articles etc so its real interesting to see how he actually throws down in the ring from my own eyes.
