Pulver Thread
Alright..."People Who Like MMA...." thread has turned into a bit of a Jens Pulver thread, so I figured I'd just start a whole new thread here for Jens Pulver.
Basically, he's probably the closest thing to a boxer gone MMA these days. But rather than go on about him, I figured I'd post a video or two about him, and we can do more discussing about him here.

Re: Pulver Thread
good stuff. cc.
The second vid, I like when they say best left hand in the sport. Well shit, he's a southpaw!! That helps!
It's not hard to convince me of the punching ability of boxers. The best punchers, bar none. The key though, is to expand your game to include kicks and sprawls, and some wrestling would help. Boxing, IMO, is the ebst foundation to have though.

Re: Pulver Thread
Wacky...I just found out that Joe Lauzon (the guy who just KOd Pulver in 45 seconds) trains at a gym like 20 minutes from here. I was debating between two different gyms, his and another(chose the one he DOESN"T go to, as it's a bit more beginner friendly...if it winds up being too easy for me, I'll go to Lauzon's). But also kind of wacky is that Alex Karelexis (from TUF1) trains at the gym I've decided to go to.

Re: Pulver Thread
karalexis, eh? well, he sucks so stay awy from THAT gym! ;D
D, are you just starting out? I was under the impression that you've been doing this for years. You boxed for a while first though, right?

Re: Pulver Thread
Right...I've been boxing, but I'm new to the whole ground game. What ever I know is from sparring with friends who wrestle/BJJ/etc etc. The Karalexis gym specializes in submission wrestling and BJJ, so I'll start there. If it turns out I know more than I think I do, I'll switch over to the Lauzon gym. Either way, I want to go to the Lauzon gym before I ever actually fight.
