The memorable 20th anniversary year of SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING will conclude in sensational style on Saturday, Dec. 2, with an outstanding world championship doubleheader featuring two of boxing’s most dynamic performers, Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito, live at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City (9 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the west coast).


In the first of the two co-featured main events on SHOWTIME, Margarito, the exciting, hard-hitting, World Boxing Organization (WBO) 147-pound champion will defend his crown against WBO No. 5 contender Joshua Clottey.


The second championship bout of the night will pit undefeated Cotto (27-0, 22 KOs) against fellow undefeated Puerto Rican, southpaw Carlos Quintana (23-0, 18 KOs), for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight title.


Bob Arum’s Top Rank, Inc., in association with Northeast Promotions and Caesars Atlantic City, will promote the twin bill.

Margarito should shut his mouth...he's got 4 losses on his record...the last time just bcoz he stepped up...he aint no super hero...

He may very well win this, but Margarito isnt anything yet....a lot more to prove...

Does Margarito no any other words than Mayweather is scared of me?


He fights Clottey and already he is still yapping on about Mayweather, has he a crush on him or sommat?

I dont think he will beat Clottey, I think he will be found out, Clottey is very good.

I also see Quintana causing Cotto fits, Im just not sure if he can keep him off him all night thought.

He talks about sparring. But the purpose of sparring isn't to beat the crap out of your sparring partner, it's to sharpen your skills. If Oscar wanted to beat the crap out of Margarito he would have.

I agree it would be an action packed fight from begining to end. But not right now this instinct I would say mid-way 2007 or end of 2007 if they are both in the mix still.

Margaritos mistake was not keeping busy, he waited along toooo much and limited himself to 2 fights this year. :(

I think Clottey will knockout Margarito in a real good tear-up. a fight fan fight for sure ! it could definitely go the other way, i just have a feeling about this one. might be gas tho? ;)
