Finally seen what Benn did to Mcclellan

It was obvious punching to the back of the head but the ref managed to ignore it (3 times in a row). Did anyone ever bring to light what Benn deliberately did to Mcclellan? (commentators, journalists, anyone?)

Or were the tactics overlooked and everyone praised Benn for the win?

i think american commentators said about it but to be honest that fight was more like street fight it was brutal i think benn was just doing whatever he could to hold off rampaging gerald

Undoubtedly, but it was still obvious that he thought about punching him on the back of the head, then followed through with it over and over.

Anyone that saw the fight live was too mesmerized by the brutal action to think about fouls and the like.

It was a great time for UK boxing and of course it was all on tv. I was a kid when those fights were on ITV and the mark they made on me has stuck ever since...those fights made a fan of me...

i was only really little when they all done there battles but remember parents and family all watching it

I was there watching the fight live, and it never even occurred to me to think about fouls.

Both guys were fouling each other in an attempt to just get through what was one of the most brutal wars I have ever seen. Benn was on a mission that night and (with him) just about anything goes in a war.

#1 The fight SHOULD have been McClellan winning via 1st round TKO
#2 The fight SHOULD have been stopped when G-Man couldn't keep his mouthpeice in
#3 Rabbit punching was rampant in that fight

why should it have been tko ?? ref only give benn 5 seconds extra its hard to stop a fight when gerald is fighting back and he did knock benn down again in 8th if ref would of stopped it people right now would be saying how gerald was robbed

In the first round Benn was getting knocked pillar to post and for his health the fight should have stopped

People wouldn't be saying G-Man was robbed because they would have found bleeding on the brain in the post fight physical

its hard for fight to be stopped when hes fighting back maybe they should have more things in boxing then i would of loved for them to stop it so gerald didnt get as much damage as he did but what im saying is its hard for ref to stop it when he is fighting back
