Champion Tiozzo hangs up gloves
WBA light heavyweight champion Fabrice Tiozzo has announced he is retiring.
The 37-year-old Frenchman, who has held the title since 2004, had been due to defend his crown against Argentina's Hugo Gernon Garay on 18 November.
However, he has opted to step down now, saying: "I'm retiring at the top. At my age, with my prizes, I need challenges and they won't offer me them anymore."
Tiozzo's record stands at 48 wins and two defeats, both of which came against WBA cruiserwight champion Virgil Hill.

I agree he would of had a chance against both....This is a shock though I wonder if their is another reason besides just what was said...Why decide to do it when you have a defense scheduled why not after?....Either way he has had a better than decent career...Though not highly publicized and spent a long time in the cruisers he has always been in the mix and always gave a good fight...IMO was always underrated....
