i just watched taylor vs chavez it was amazing inside work by taylor and he can box great on outside and in that fight threw hell of alot of punches on other hand u got pryor who has great inside work like taylor and throws hell of alot of punches and can box on outside when he has to so who wins prime for prime
Mel Taylor would win....Pryor got knocked down a lot because when he threw punches his chin came up and out which is why Arguello thought he'd beat him.
Pryor was more relentless than Chavez was and Chavez found a way to eventually walk Taylor down due to bad information from his corner, but skill wise Taylor was more talented than both of these boxers (Chavez, Pryor), change the ref and Duva and Taylor beats both these guy's.
Pryor would have punished him. Pryor could box too and give angles that Chavez couldn't. It would be a night of Taylor getting potshotted and trying to flurry on the inside and Pryor coming between those shots at the angles he could create.
i like both fighters this is how i see it
power= pryor
speed= taylor
stamina slight edge to pryor
workrate= even
footwork= taylor
chin= its hard to tell both men could take bombs in there prime pryor was down more but flash knockdowns and he got back up and punished them i have to give slight edge to pryor its tough match up though but i havent seen much of taylor only chavez fight where as i seen more pryor fights its hard to get hold of any other taylor fights
