Everlast gloves at JJB Sports
Hi!
I found these Everlast Gloves through Google: http://www.jjbsports.com/sa/box/boxg/52100101/
As I´m interested in the Everlast Fighter glove, which usually cost around £40-45, I thought it was possible to pick a bargain here. So I sent an Email to JJB and asked what model it is but they didn´t had any more information than they had written on the site. They recommended me to go to the closest JJB store to find out if it´s the Everlast Fighter or some other glove.
But as I don´t live in the UK that´s not possible. However, I go to London next month and are able to go to a JJB store then. The problem is that I am there for a very short time and JJB don´t have any stores in the central area of London. So before I go on a tube ride I wonder if someone know if the glove linked above is the Fighter or some other model? Someone even lives close to a JJB and can sneak in to have a quick look at them?
All help will be much appreciated!
Re: Everlast gloves at JJB Sports
Im not sure where you live, but the UK Everlast is a lot different from the reputable brand in the UK.
Its actually just a frnachise under the name of Everlast, with lot less quality and nothing compared to its US counterpart. Id go with the Official American Everlast range. The JJB ones are good fitness and all that, but dont expect anytihng special.
To have a look at REAL everlast gloves www.titleboxing.com
For quality gloves in the UK (no everlast unfortunately) www.fightshop.com
Re: Everlast gloves at JJB Sports
Title brand gloves and Tuf-Wear and far better then Everlast, especially for the money. The ProMex gloves are great too.

Have you tried the ProMex gloves and what do you think of them? I have looked at them through their internet site and in their catalog and was wondering if they were any good.
Re: Everlast gloves at JJB Sports
Legit or not they aren't good... obviously if you do get everlast go with the real deal... but you should know that a lot of people in the UK AND US call them Neverlast... :P
Re: Everlast gloves at JJB Sports
Gotta say the thai boxing brands are amazing.
Fairtex and Twins, VERY good rated gloves.
Re: Everlast gloves at JJB Sports
Thank you for your answers! Some of the suggestions you make above seems interesting but unfortunately they don´t cost £25 as the (n)everlast do ;). I have been looking at Twins as they can be shipped from Thailand at about £25-30 including postage and many people says they´re top quality. But are they suitable for boxing or are they muay thai gloves?
Another question is if someone know a good boxing shop in central London I can visit? It´s always better if you can see gloves in the flesh and try them on. I heard Lonsdale is closed but there may be some other one?
Re: Everlast gloves at JJB Sports
Nooo theyre not just for thai boxing. Thai boxing gloves and boxing gloves are exactly the same. You got the range of Ozs the same, bag gloves, fight gloves, sparring gloves.
Id suggest getting the Twins or Fairtex from fightshop.com if you want a good pair of gloves.

no, burt I've read good things on various other sites. (Unfortunately that was a while ago). Although, when I ordered my gloves, the associate at Title told me to go with the Tuf-Wears. She said ProMex are very good, but Tuf-Wears really live up to their name. So I did. Very happy with them. My NEXT pair MIGHT be the promex, just to see for myself.
A kid at our gym has the lace up title platinums and they look very sweet too.

nice. ya can't argue with fairtex. ;)
Re: Everlast gloves at JJB Sports
Okay lads, after all your advise here I thought a pair of Twins Special would be the best deal so I managed to get a pair delivered from Thailand for 50 USD through Ebay. I recived them today and the quality is spot on so I´m very pleased with them.
BUT: They´re a bit hard and on the small side and I wounder if they will stretch and soften when I start using them? At least that is what new leather shoes do after a while... ???
Re: Everlast gloves at JJB Sports
They will get more comfy and theyll DEFINATELY soften up after a while.
