The truth behind Mayweather - Baldomir
Look let's be honest, this is a HUGE mismatch. IMO, I don't see any way Baldy beats Floyd. Sure Baldy beat Judah and Gatti, but come on. Baldomir took huge shots from Gatti and Judah was very unfocused and barely lost to Baldy. Baldy will wanna trade with Floyd and he thinks that he will be able to, but Floyd won't allow it. Floyd will jab to the stomach all night, jab to the face, and use right hand leads ALL NIGHT!!! It's easy work IMO. Don't forget, Floyd is taller than Baldy, and has a three inch reach advantage. Which means Baldomir will have to walk through a ton of jabs and crosses to get to Floyd. Baldomir won't corner Floyd because Floyd will clinch when he gets backed up and feels too much heat, then move back to the center of the ring and take points at will. People forget that Floyd's defense against the ropes is very, very impressive. Baldomir can't box Floyd in the middle of the ring and that's exactly where Floyd will keep the entire fight the whole night. Baldy doesn't have the power to knock Floyd out, people look at the Judah and Gatti fights. Well, Judah's chin has always been suspect and he just lost his equilibrium, he wasn't in danger of getting knocked out. Gatti, got hit with so many HUGE shots that the punishment took a toll on him. Baldy is a great warrior and an inspiration because of what he has accomplished this year but the buck stops here. What we have all fallen victim to is the Floyd's camp own marketing scheme. When they promoted the Gatti fight, some people said that Floyd has never felt Gatti's power just like they are saying about Baldomir, but a lot of us knew Gatti was in for a long night (or as short night as it turned out). The problem with Floyd's promotion of the Gatti fight was that he vocalized this fact, he told everyone that Gatti was a club fighter and that Gatti would be punished all night, he totally went against what his promoters were saying all said that Gatti was not on his level. What happened? He punished Gatti but everyone afterwards was like "Well, he only beat Gatti. Plus, if he knew Gatti wasn't on his level, then why did he fight him?" People basically threw his destruction of Gatti out the window and dismissed the win like it was nothing. Well Floyd isn't saying the same thing this time. This time, he's going along with everything his promoters are saying and agreeing, saying that Baldomir is a "big, tough, strong guy" and the "real welterweight champion of the world" because he's realizing that he has to build these fights up and say the right things so that people like Brian Kenny and the media can't come back and say "well, you say this three months ago..." and that his wins do mean something. If you look at this fight this fight parallels the Gatti fight in every way. Everyone said that Floyd was too small for 140 and Gatti was too powerful at 140. Everyone is saying that Floyd is too small for 147 and Baldy is too powerful at 147. It's the same ole, same ole. Baldy is a natural welterweight but he is slow, doesn't have particularly great hand speed (he has good handspeed though), and he is flat footed. Remember Floyd might not KO Baldy, but you can only take so much punishment. Floyd is gonna tear Baldy's ass out the frame except this time he'll be recognized as the true champion at 147 after his win unlike at 140 when he beat Gatti. With this being said, I'm still getting the PPV because it should still be a good fight to watch even though Floyd will smoke this guy.

in short the most likely result will be that floyd wins..
but its wrong, unfair and unjust to count baldomir completely out of the fight..
and if floyd feels the same way as you do coming into the fight then that will be his downfall ;)
peace
Re: The truth behind Mayweather - Baldomir
Mayweather in a shut out. 12 rounds to 0. And only a fool should be surprise at the out come.

That's the great thing about Floyd, he takes every fight very seriously. Because losing will fuck up his legacy and his future money earning potential. And, OF COURSE, Baldy has a chance, every fighter has a chance to win on any given night, I'm just saying with Floyd's skill set and the circumstances, Baldy would have to connect with something right on the dot, because there's absolutely NO WAY Baldy's outboxing Floyd. And with Floyd's defensive ability, I just can't see Floyd getting caught with something that crazy. Don't let that Judah fight fool you into thinking Floyd's lost speed and quickness moving up to 147, Floyd looked average speed against Judah because Judah might just be as naturally fast, quick, and talented as Floyd. Judah's just a moron.

Anybody willing to bet their house on anything has a serious gambling problem.

Re: The truth behind Mayweather - Baldomir
I noticed that HBO is hyping this fight making it sound like Hearns/Duran. Baldomir is overmatched in every facet except strength. And Floyd will make it an easy fight and pick his shots. Why Floyd is avoiding Margarito is surprising. He would rather say he is great than prove he is great.

i dont believe in the slightest that floyd is avoiding tony...
its just true what they say! tony hasnt fought anyone of interest to have a claim to fight floyd..
i could walk into a presser and offer floyd 8 million to fight me but why would that make him afraid of me when he inevitably turns him down...
tony is a great guy he is a badass fighter.. but he just cant demand a fight with floyd and get it...
just like he did with winky...
baldomir is not as greatly overmatched as you think atall! his power isnt even his best attribute against floyd...
if anything is his best attribute its his ability to just walk through a shot..
its been said about alot of great fighters that the only thing that will beat them is themselves...
floyd can turn up with a good gameplan and have this one in the bag, or he can make one mistake and destroy his record, if floyd slips up baldomir will take him out..
maybe baldomir has a good game plan, but he'll have to have his a game too!
people cant doubt carlos forever.. i say doubt its looking more like dismissal...
hes used to it , hes been dismissed big time twice already this year! its fair play stating that floyd is just too good for him but how do you figure it'll be a blowout?
nobody is explaining theyr views theyr just stating them!
peace

Re: The truth behind Mayweather - Baldomir
Margarito is more faceted than Baldomir. He is a big guy and no he is not great, but if Mayweather beat him easily it would say alot. Floyd really builds himself up beyond what he is.. He has to fight the top guys. Too bad. He really has not proven much. He wants to be Leonard and Hearns, but he more like Roy Jones and Virgil Hill.
