Undefeated WBO jr lightweight champion Joan Guzman (26-0, 17 KOs) will defend his title in Santo Domingo, the capital city of the Dominican Republic, on December 18. Guzman will headline a card featuring rising Dominican and other Latin ring prospects. JG Promotions and Jay Boxing, in association with Guzman's regular co-promoters Sycuan Ringside Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions, will promote the event. Looking forward to this,I've become a reluctant fan(I was expecting Barrios to pound him). He has awesome skill and that shoulder roll is almost as good as Mayweathers! Downside...he's 30 or 31 so should take the big fights asap!

I suspect this won't be against a real good opponent, what with it being in the capital city, sounds like it will be a reward for winning the title more than a big fight. But I've been saying this for awhile, he needs to move, his next fight should be a very meaningful fight.

I really love watching Guzman fight, he definatly has the ability, the chin, and mental capacity to trouble MAB/EM/Pacman. The guy is a massive 130, got knows how he was making 126 for so long, and I love his spirit. He looked absolutly amazing against Barrios, he's definatly a warrior, and he has incredible skills. Stamina is the only issue he has, but I could watch him fight all day.

cc EG. guzman isn't getting any younger. he definitely needs to keep fighting the top brass. would love to see him against edwin valero.

CC's back boys,glad there are a few Guzman fans here, I think he would beat Valero at the moment,Valero is far too crude,he needs to show the skills he shows in sparring and needs to stop thinking he can KO EVERYONE and box a little more at least!

same here, i know guzman is better skilled than valero but it would be a very interesting match up. you know what valero is capable of if he catches him. 8)

I like Guzman alot, great little fighter has skills and alot of heart, thatnks for info El Gamo i will defintly be watching out for him, pity we never seen him against Harrison, but i personally think it would be similar to the Barrios fight.
