Roy Jones-wannabe signs for Sports Network - wants De La Hoya!

Just as quick as Floyd Mayweather Jnr signed a contract to fight Oscar de la Hoya in a blockbuster showdown, trigger-tongued light-middleweight prospect Anthony Small said he would have loved to have taken on the Mexican legend next - for nothing!
With Mayweather beating Small to the punch, the 25-year-old from Deptford will now focus his attention towards his 14th professional fight at the Newport Sports Centre in Wales this Saturday (18th November) instead of the bright lights of Las Vegas.
But fight fans will feel like they are in the worlds fight capital when the outrageous self-publicist makes his glittering ring entrance complete with the "Scream" mask from the hit horror movie.
Further eccentricities include his nickname SRCJJ that stands for his ring idols Sugar Ray Clay Jones Junior and he gets about London on a motorised scooter!
Small has just signed a promotional deal with Sports Network and already has his next fight lined up for December 9 at the ExCeL London.
"I'm delighted to join Frank Warren and his team at Sports Network but I?m not sure they are prepared for what they have got on their hands!" said Small.
"I make Chris Eubank look like a church mouse compared to what I?ve got in mind for publicity!"
"Boxing needs personalities to get the bums-on-seats and the TV viewers to tune in and I'm going to make myself a star,"
"Welsh boxing fans will get a glimpse of a super-star in the making and then I'm looking forward to returning home and fighting in the capital."
He added, "I'm ready to be unleashed, I'll fight any of the pretenders out there on the British scene Jamie Moore, Wayne Alexander, Bradley Pryce but do they want a piece of me? No! In fact, skip them, I'll go straight for the world champion, I want De La Hoya and I'd fight him for nothing,"
"I know that I'm the complete package. I've got a unique style, I can fight, I'm good looking and I help out at a animal refuge centre!"
So far Small has backed up his talk and he's unbeaten in 13 fights with eight KO's, seven coming inside three rounds.

Look's like us Brit's have got another Eubank-wannabe on our hands on ITV, like we had with Hamed in '94/'95. Let's hope he's not a flop, which I think he may be tbh because he's not very technically refined. The kid has a lot going for him though - not only an awkward style but very long arms and very heavy hands. He's also confident enough and throws those Hamed-style corkscrew lead uppercuts and S***. He's disciplined enough too being a Muslim.

Mate, find me a boxer, good or bad, who doesn't trash talk at all, and I'll hail him as the saviour of pro Boxing. Personally, I think that a boxer with a Geordie accent would be the funniest at trash talking....it's like a total different language. Maybe also someone with a strong Belfast accent.
Re: Roy Jones-wannabe signs for Sports Network - wants De La Hoya!
The Klitschko's......they just don't talk shit, they may say they will win but confidence and arrogance are different.

Okay, so maybe they are some of the most principled, dedicated athletes to come into the ring, and are gentlemen outside of it too, but IMO they are the exception that proves the rule. Enzo Macc might also fall under that category as well. CC Lyle, point well made and backed up.
