Heavyweight Tourney "Superfighter" called off!
Well, after the withdrawals of two of the biggest names who were slated to compete it was always going to be a struggle to get this one going properly, though I expect that the real problem for this promo was ticket sales. Any Ozzies out there who did or didn't buy tickets? I think it would have been a fairly good experiment, and might have enlivened the HW idvision a little, but it looks like Duval has decided to cut his losses and run for the hills with the debts he's run up.

Reminds me of when they called off the Butler Amusements traveling carnival in my neighborhood.
Same difference IMO.

Honestly I kinda knew this was going to happen after Peter and Brock dropped out. I was actually hoping this would bring some plublicity back to boxing but I doubt it will even happen now.
If this does kick off in the States then I really think they should get some high profile names in the tourney, that would draw allot more people.
Re: Heavyweight Tourney "Superfighter" called off!
If they bring this tourney back it should be in Las Vegas or Atlantic City. Each fighter should be guaranteed 50k and the amount increased in increments as they advance through each level. Perhaps they could sweeten the pot by luring certain 'name' fighters into the tourney with a few extra bucks. If they have at least 3 names and charge no more than $50 I'd buy it.

I also think it would be interesting if they gave an untested fighter a wildcard into there, maybe have 8 or 16 fighters with less than 5 fights a qualifying tourney, and the winner goes into the hat with the stars.
