Castillo vs. Hatton who wins?
Very similar styles, both guys are prone to cuts.
Don't vote unless you've seen the following fights

IMO Castillo will destroy Hatton, but I think it will be
a great match for the 6 rounds that it lasts.

Re: Castillo vs. Hatton who wins?
I've posted about 5 or six on this topic, and I say Hatton, on the basis that he can do most things castillo can do, but for more of a round, for every round. He's naturally larger, a bit quicker, and is unbeaten. The argument for Castillo, is that he's a smart fighter, he can hypnotize his opponents, and leave them completly confused, because the punches come from nowhere sometimes, but you have to doubt his desire, and will to train with the Corrales fiascos. Eating mexican food and shagging chicitas is not what you should be doing a week before a fight.

If your referring to an article that was posted on here around that weigh in Im fairly certain it was edited by the poster and a joke.. I remember that one and I don't think it was serious... And besides, as if Hatton's keeps himself in top condition when he isn't fighting.. He packs on waaay to much weight imo, it can't be healthy to keep doing and he must lose some speed at the least.. As far as Hatton vs Castillo Id have to give JLC a slight edge.. I think they are fairly similar fighters and both have excellent condition, I don't see Hatton as being quicker and you may also be surprised that he isn't much larger if they do fight. Castillo will have a hell of a time making 140 if he can at all.. In most physical assets they are basically on par imo. Ricky may have a better workrate, Castillo may have a better chin, speed and power are pretty much up in the air, I don't think anyone will pretend to know for a fact that one has an edge here. I just think Castillo is a bit slicker and a bit more skilled, that's all I can say.
Re: Castillo vs. Hatton who wins?
Didn't vote because I am just unsure...& I don't really dig on Castillo...& I aint exactly a Hatton fan.
That being said...Castillo's noggin work & output would be a huge factor in the fight...but the fact that Hatton would probably have open season on that big tall lanky frame of his would be a factor too.
I just don't know...or maybe don't care too much for the pick.
I'll go with Hatton...because I like him better as a person (from what I've seen & read) than I do Castillo.

Re: Castillo vs. Hatton who wins?
Castillo would massacre Hatton inside of 5.
Re: Castillo vs. Hatton who wins?
I agree that Castillo is a little slicker and I think he's noticeably more skilled. He also has a lot more experience against top opposition--I'm still not convinced of Hatton's quality.
This will be an action-packed slugfest though, if extremely dirty. But I say Castillo by TKO somewhere in rounds 8-10.
Re: Castillo vs. Hatton who wins?
I should add that I think the big variable here is whether Castillo is now too much past his prime. He's fought a lot more fights than Ricky has, and a lot more fights against class opponents. That cuts both ways, I guess.

I'm not a particular fan of either guy, BUT I think this would be a hell of a slugfest.
The reason I picked Castillo is that he's been in there with guys that can hit harder
at the same workrate as Hatton (Corrales, Paez), but Hatton has never tasted the power
that Castillo has. Pay particular attention to Corrales - Castillo 2 (link on the beginning
of this thread) It would look almost the same as that. I also wouldn't really say
that Castillo is more skilled, I think he is just the tougher guy. Castillo has never been
officially knocked down he has lost 3 fights because of cuts and 2 got waived off by the ref.
he has an 87% KO percentage with over 50 wins. JLC will have won titles in 4 weight classes
if he makes weight for his fight in January.

:o haha when I clicked the link it went to my younger brothers youtube account!! ianhamilton83 ;D
GREAT fight!!
very very even but my money would go on Hatton. He moves a little quicker, is a little stronger and does a little more work. But I couldn't see it lasting 12rds so Hatton could always lose by cut.

All due respect bro, but I'd never compare Hatton's inside fighting to Corrales, I'm not saying corrales is a bad fighter, he's a brilliant fighter, especially when he uses his jab, but Hatton is a completly different type of inside fighter, people don't realise about how much power he actually has, and how well he puts his combinations together. Every shot has a lot of power on it, and its enough power to wear down the great Kostya Tszyu. Corrales actually KO'd Castillo, I don't think Hatton could do that, but what I think he could do is wear Castillo down with pace, and put Castillo on the back foot, not just stand toe to toe, but actually put Castillo on the ropes, where Hatton is extremely dangerous. I can't envisage Hatton being on the ropes in this fight. I think its one of the keys to this fight.
Re: Castillo vs. Hatton who wins?
I like this fight... Ricky Hatton wins inside the distance. Ricky is too strong at 140. his high output and on your chest style would overwhelm Castillo. Castillo likes to press , Castillo is shit when forced on his heels. JMO. ;)

No he didn't, the ref waived it off Castillo has NEVER been officially knocked down.
Here's the last round from Castillo Corrales I
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzW-lMWhy4c
and if you're not gonna watch it (I assume you won't) he actually knocked down Corrales twice that round.
