Not a big morales fan really but...
That was sad, to see the man with a granite chin sitting on the canvas in the third round and looking to his corner like to say "i dont want this". The man we all once believe could not be knocked out or knocked down, knocked out in 3 rounds. I hate seeing great fighters finish like that but i guess its just how it goes. Every fighter has pride and they wanna finish on top, so they take that big fight at the end of their career and alot of the time they are over matched.
Re: Not a big morales fan really but...
it could have been MUCH worse.....Tyson-McBride worse!!!
Re: Not a big morales fan really but...
Leonard-Camacho worse.
Fenech-Holliday worse.
Norris-Mullings/Rosenblatt/Boudouani worse.
Reid-Hill worse.
Holyfield-whoever worse.
Jones Jr-whoever worse.
Morales gets big respect for going out against a SERIOUS pound for pound contender, and he gets respect for going down SWINGING.

Snakey,
I agree 100%, and I think if you go back through the forum from their second bout, most people predicted that this would happen if they fought a third time.
Morales is a victim of too many big fights, to early in life, and too close to each other. He is spent at 29, and if he stays in the ring, he will be damaged goods.
Honestly, where does he go from here? Tijuana tour? contender fights?
He just doesn't belong anywhere in the second tier b/c he has been at the top for the past SEVEN YEARS STRAIGHT!!! Even DeLa Hoya wasn't as consistent as Morales. If you think not, then name just one TUNE UP fight he has had in the 21st century...
Holla back!
Re: Not a big morales fan really but...
Morales may have been blown away against Pac but he went down swinging...after the beating he took you've got to admire him for having the bottle to even try that again...
There is no shame in him going out like this...
Re: Not a big morales fan really but...
Yeah true but still i just found it sad. At least he lost to someone good and went down fighting. Tyson vs mcbride was bad but we expected something like that to happen after danny williams fight. Holyfield...well we are use to that now, the toney fight was sad to see though. But yeah it could of been alot worse, he could of retired after raheem and that would of been worse.
