Miranda: "Abraham, I Will Hunt You Down"
In response to a recent news item that saw Wilfried Sauerland - promoter of IBF Middleweight ‘champion’ Arthur Abraham – state that he expects his fighter to be back in action in April while making no mention of his requirement to fight number one contender Edison Miranda by June 23rd, ‘Pantera’ took time out from his preparation for his HBO debut to make the following blunt comments.
“It was very interesting to read that Arthur Abraham has received offers to fight in the United States in April,” said Miranda. “I truly hope that the ‘champion’ is not looking to avoid his mandatory commitment to me. Remember, Arthur, we have a date to fight no later than June 23 and as the great Joe Louis said, “You can run, but you can’t hide.” I will hunt you down if I have to.”
Miranda was robbed of the IBF title against Abraham on September 23rd in Germany in one of the most controversial middleweight championship bouts in history. After the 12 round controversial decision went against Miranda, the IBF elected to keep the Colombian bomber in the number one spot, thus mandating a rematch with the ‘champion’ as soon as Abraham healed from the jaw Miranda broke in two places in the fourth round of the bout.
Miranda will make the first defense of his “People’s Middleweight Championship” as the headliner on HBO on December 16th against hard-hitting Willie Gibbs. The bout will be held at Miccosukee Resort & Gaming in Miami, Florida and will be televised live on HBO’s BAD series.

The one fight I saw Miranda in makes me think that he will never beat top competition... He doesn't hit all that hard as his record would indicate, and he has no defense with a weak chin.

He might not have the best chin but he hits hella hard....hellooooo HOWARD EASTMAN!!!!
And you are right, he doesn't have good defense...he's this era's Julian Jackson

That article makes it sound like it was an outright robbery, it was a razor thin decision that abraham etched out, not the world's biggest freaking robbery. Some shady crap by the ref but I think even without the refing , on neutral grounds, abraham beats him again.

And you are right, he doesn't have good defense...he's this era's Julian Jackson
Knocking out Eastman isn't anythign special, but getting hurt by Eastman especially in that fight was pretty sad. Julian Jackson would have destroyed Miranda.

It was great Abraham could keep fighting BUT it was very sketchy what happened in the 5th

Eastman hadn't been KO'd before....not by anyone
I don't buy the hype that Miranda will be winning multiple titles anytime soon but I think he can beat Arthur Abraham.

The problem is that Miranda get's a fight & Abraham doesn't...Abraham needs the activity...if his jaw is going to hold up also.

That's gonna be Miranda's biggest advantage.
If Abraham ever is able to step in the ring again, there will be no tune up fights. The man who cracked his jaw in 3 pieces will be waiting for him when that first bell rings, and fighting with a vengence!
HBO has shown great interest in a multi-fight deal with Pantera, so I hope to see them groom him in 1-2 fights and than put up the big money to bring Abraham to the States.
I hear Pantera is working hard in camp on his defense. Willie Gibbs ain't a joke and can brawl, so I hope to see Miranda's D improved. If he can learn to take less abuse during a fight and keep up that strong aggression, he will be a killer to stop!

Eastman is a hard puncher as his record would indicate.
How isn't stopping Eastman anything special?
Abraham couldn't do it ;)
