Pro boxer training routines
does anyone know where I can find lists of what pro boxers do for training?
I understand basically what they do, but I'm looking for one place that
would have like say PBF training for Baldy, that kind of thing. Doesn't
necessarily have to be PBF any title holder will do.

Im also interested.
You can find general stuff anywhere, videos, snippets of them training.
But try and find a specific routine, which lists reps/sets, exercises used, how long/how far/how fast etc and you get yourself nowhere.

Yeah every time I search I just find a video of a boxer jumping rope for the cameras.
I did find this book
http://search.barnesandnoble.com/boo...9754436&itm=30
It has training routines of guys like Ali, Vargas, Jones Jr. etc. I think I'll pick it up and let you know if it's any good.
When I do get it would you like me to post what I find here?
Re: Pro boxer training routines
Simply there isnt one set routine. Depends on where the fighter is in his career, plus whats his personality is and his attention to detail is without him getting the hump. Every kid Ive worked with was different as regards egos and goals to acheive. Boxers are a different breed. Some youve got to slow down others need a rocket up their arse. Once you reach championship class the training doesnt change to much, the attitude does. Im a big beleiver in getting cardio work done on the track its safe and they can be monitored or in the gym Oylinpic curciuts do the trick or something simular when needed. Im a big beleiver in stretching for power and correction. the hard work finishes 8 days before the fight for safety and fine tuning, to me the weight should not be more than 1kilo above their fighting weight a week before but have got it wrong on a couple of occasions. How many rounds a day depends once again on the fighter.I had one kid fighting for the big one who for 4 weeks pryer to the fight did only 10 rds a day but was living the life it was how he did the rds was the key. Ive had kids who trained like lunatics but lived the same way, I could go on.

That books pretty crappy for what you want. It gives you a general overview of different fighters. For example what they ate for breakfast, how often they jogged, how long they stayed in the gym for. But it never goes into great detail of what they did in the gym.
Like it says some people do weights some dont, yet it doesnt tell you what sort of weights and what lifts they were doing...etc.
Re: Pro boxer training routines
Pro's do things alot like the am's. Their training is similar just more intense, you will see them sparring more rounds. I remeber seeing that mayweather would train 3 days a week in the am and the pm. Each day involved about 8 rounds of sparring, roadwork, heavybag, mitts, double end bag, speed bag, and calistenhics. Just put in more rounds in a regular boxing training routine, and you basically have a pro one.
