I remeber the world cup before last when the Us got to the quarter finals. Might of been the BBC sent someone to the US asking random people if they knew how far the team had, most replied sayig they didn't even know the US had a team lol...

The us is so big , if they took up rugby and soccer, damn they would be hard to beat

The only thing we dominate anymore is american football and i have confidence in saying even if it was a global sport we'd still be the best at it for atleast a few decades. I just found out last year that there actual is an american professional soccer league and i was shocked. I dunno why most of us don't pay attention to soccer. Almost everyone played it as a kid. There's just nothing bigger than football and the superbowl. I think boxing would become a high ranking sport again if title fights were aired on basic cable channels like the superbowl is.

Using that logic - why aren't China and India fantastic at soccer?

Having said that, I agree that of you ever got serious about it, because of the money and infrastructures in place, the US would be a major player at those sports.

Yeah - but it's like Brits saying they are the best at snooker. I mean, nobody else plays it seriously.

If all things were equal (which if course they never are), the Polynesians would be the best at American Football: Samoans, Fijians and Tongans etc. They are seriously genetically well built for that and I think you are starting to see quite a migration of Polynesians into US football?

The US has no reason to be bad at soccer....Bruce Arena just kept our guys from doing what they do best, he over coached them and left us playing defense the whole time....America likes offense, we like it in Basketball, Ice Hockey, and we'd like it in soccer. Let our team score more and everyone would be happy even if our defense sucked

It doesn't matter WHO they got Coaching the team, what matters is WHOS on the pitch playing..... ;)

They could take, Klinsmann, Vanvasten, Garrincha, Pereira, Sir Alex Ferguson, Rijkard and still wouldn't accomplish much with the players they got...

A BIG as deal was made about defender... his name leaves my mind at the moment but it's somthing like Oguchi/Owuchi anyway.... What the hell did he do to make the 'D' line better? He was the man that was suppose to be guarding that tall Czech that scored the goal against them and where was he?

Anywho!! I'm just venting out on the US cause ze zdamn! Germans beat Argentina..... >:mad

dont think so mate, Beckham's always on the bench and i rarely see Andy Cole or Yorke nowadays.
Dont know why Ferguson keeps him as a substitue...Schmichael is probably their best player at the moment.
