Thanks
Hi Anybody who knows me knows Im afan of Charley Burley. Well through a thread on Saddos I got a book Charley Burley and the Black Murderes Row.It is one good read and very factual, Id recomend it to everybody whose a Boxing fan. It takes you back to how things were with the mob running things. After reading it I now have a different slant on the alphabet governing bodies, if you didnt have the connections and was black, and could fight youd no chance. The amazing thing is the weight he gave away 8 and 10lb to fighters like Charles and Moore and Bivens Koing heavys. Mr Harry Otty I Loved it couldnt put it down well done. PS the vidio was fantastic a real collecters item which I wiil Treasure

Re: Thanks
Scrap, I am very happy that you enjoyed my book. It was written for people who, like yourself, have an appreciation of boxing history and the un-sung fighters of yesteryear.
Burley was definitely something special - and not just as a fighter. It was one of the greatest thrills of my life meeting him and I am proud to call his family my friends.
The video footage is something else! What about that shot Lloyd Marshall paralyzes Freddie Mills with. I like Marshall's style a lot. It is a great pity that more fights of Burley's, Marshall's, Cocoa Kid, Eddie Booker et al. don't exist.
Thanks for the kind comments.

The burley tape is when hes past his best against afair l/heavy people say he was carrying him, but some of the little moves hes doing are a joy, you dont see it nowadays, to often. Harry I had the whole of the domino night on tape but borrowed it and never got it back, if the bastard who borrowed it is reading this cunt
