I say a prime Iran Barkley at 160 woulda kicked Taylor's ass how bout yall?
Iran "The Blade" Barkley would have ripped Jermain Taylor's heart out and shown it to him IMO. Taylor can't take pressure very well and Barkley would have brought it. Now Iran was no HOF at 160 or All time great, but he was a tuff, rugged, good, pressure fighter with some pop. I think he KO's Jermain in bout 7 rounds, how about you?

Hmm...Actually IMO Barkley was over rated all around...Most of his hype was based on his wins over Hearns...He was an easy guy to figure out and Manny Stewered would do that for Taylor and lay down the blue print...I said it before and will again your corner man is as important if not as important as the fighter...EG all the times Dundee guided Ali out of trouble...Steward would tell Taylor what to do and all Jermain would have to is follow it for the dec

i dont think so mate he beat hearns twice and in my opinion should of got the decision against duran the only thing for me is that he got destroyed by benn in 1st round even though he had been in trouble in that round

Well i actually think Taylor is underated. He is only going to get better aswell, ok he wasnt THAT impressive against Ouma, but he still got the job done against a tough lil bastard! Cant forget he took 2 defensive masters to 3 VERY close fights (win/lose or draw still great fight from Taylor). Taylor decision.

Just you I think - it was a close fight but Duran won especially with the knockdown, I've done a round by round report somewhere, i'll dig it out and post it.
I've seen this fight on numerous occasions - it's one of my fav fights of all-time.

i had no problem with it mate it was close fight and yes i agree knockdown probably did leave lasting impression even though i had barkley winning it was great fight and duran done extremely well especially that left hook he took in 8 th round i think it was that hook almost turned his head right around i dont know how he stood up
and i also agree with taylor winning on cut stoppage barkleys weakness was that he cut very easily look at hearns fight only after 2 rounds he had cuts on both eyes if i remember right

Most definately, Duran nearly took Barkley's head off in the first round, but yes the knockdown done it!
And all this at age 37!
