New HW Contender!! Future champ no doubt!!
Wach batters Beres!
By Ryszard Koczura
Mariusz Wach (13-0, 6 KOs) stopped Zoltan Beres (32-36-2, 10 KOs) in four rounds at Poznan International Fair, Poznan, Poland. Wach pummeled Beres from the opening bell, landing stiff jabs and hooks to the body. In round four, the 6'7 Pole trapped Beres against the ropes and launched a heavy attack that prompted referee Daniel Van de Wiele to stop the bout. The fight was for the won vacant TWBA heavyweight title.
WOw , this guy has all the stuff a champion needs. Talent , size, strength. I saw one of his fights and I gotta say......Impressive.... Future champ?? no doubt in m mind ....undisputed champ....he really has a chance
Re: New HW Contender!! Future champ no doubt!!
Really?!!!!!! A future undisputed champion?...Because he beat a guy who has been KO'd over 15 times in the last few years?.....My friend you judge too early....He has yet to face a semi real fighter let alone aanother up and comer.....do not let his size get you all hyped up...all his opponents were gimmes.....I know a long list of future undisputed champions....
Michael Grant..
David Tua
Andrew Golota
Jameel McCline
all big power hitting fellows who had impressive beginnings...now live in obscurity

Yes, not to be cruel but I agree entirely...if I've learned one lesson watching boxing it's that you don't judge fighters too early. Especially at the begining of their career.

I used to like Tua quite a bit, but I really don't think he's taking this seriously enough...coming in overweight is a bad sign when you're tying to make a comeback. Its real simple, when the guy was lighter circa 1997-1999, he was more successful..then he gained weight.

He's got only 6 ko's and just beat a guy with 36 losses. Sounds like the Polish version of Malik Scott. I think I'll pass. TWBA heavyweight title? What will they think of next?

Re: New HW Contender!! Future champ no doubt!!
32-36-2 with 10 knockouts. how in the world can you fight for a title , even a vacant one, with a record like that. and what exactly is the TWBA. Texas' Weakest Barfighters Association. The Worst Boxers Around. whatever they are, sign me up. if you have a sub.500 record and have a chance at a belt, i want a crack. ;D

Re: New HW Contender!! Future champ no doubt!!
yeah, i've heard a lot about povetkin. never had a chance to see much of him though except for a little clip from youtube somebody put up. there are is a small handful of decent looking young heavies, but sadly it seems like we need a few more.

Heard a lot of good things about this guy, but its hard to get excited about someone who has only had 10 pro fights.
