Julio Cesar Chavez v Oscar De La Hoya 1 & 2 - Revisited
Julio Cesar Chavez v Oscar De La Hoya 1
June 7, 1996
WBC Light Welterweight Championship
Las Vegas, Nevada. Caesars Palace
and
Julio Cesar Chavez v Oscar De La Hoya 2
September 19, 1998
WBC Welterweight Championship
Las Vegas, Nevada. Thomas & Mack Center
This is my second installement for my REVISTED series, yes I know it's another JC Chavez fight or fights in this case.
I wanted to get the forums thoughts on these two encounters. I thought Chavez was past his best and De La Hoya on the other hand was approaching his. Looking back it's clear to see that De la Hoya was to much for Julio and in the second encounter De La Hoya went 'Mano en Mano' which a lot of people thought he woudn't do.
Had Chavez not been cut in the two fights, do you think the outcome would have been any different?and this leads me to saying if they had met in there primes, who wins then.

no i dont oscar still would of won even if chavez wouldnt of been cut as for in there primes if oscar uses his boxing brain he can win a decision if he gets lured into a brawl chavez kills him

Yeh, I tend to agree, in there primes Chavez beats De La Hoya on the inside, but De La Hoya wins on the outside.
Going in to the two fights did anybody give Chavez a genuine chance?
