How would modern training techniques have changed past fighters?
Imagine a Marciano, Lamotta, Jack Johnson, Robinson, Demsey... Any of the greats with todays techniques... Man, that would be so great to see these guys fight with those types of trainings... Imagine a Lamotta with speed... A Marciano with agility... Holy shit!
I'm reading a biography of Jack Johnson... Sometimes he couldn't eat for days and would take a fight and sometimes have to fight 2 guys in 1 day.... Man.... I can't imagine... Any of you gus tht get the chance... Read "Unforgivable Blackness, The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson".... Great piece!

I think it would be a plus for the old school fighters to have the techniques of today as training, I mean training forms have evolved and changed as times gone bye! for the most part you still have your basic, running, jumping rope, hitting the bag.
But when you add nutrionists (and not the kind that Vargas hired ;) ) specialists in all sorts of depts. I mean that just adds on.

Only diet and supplementation has changed, the actual training hasn't changed in 30+ years, if anything cardio and intenity gets less focus in todays game...In the "old days" gloves were less padded, fights were longer and more frequent...I do believe diet, nutrition and medical care has improved a great deal and would have made the greats even better...

I've read the book and seen the film too.
Strongly recommend the film also for actual footage.
