arthritis from broken metacarpals?

Alright lads,

Basically, I broke 3 metacarpals about 10 years ago and my hand has started to ache over the last few months. I can remember at the time when I was getting xrays and stuff the dr said I could end up with arthritis if I didnt get proper treatment/physio for it (I didnt bother with physio, in hindsight not a smart move).

Advice would be appreciated here, cos im im worried that im gonna end up with hands like Mr Burns from the Simpsons
