Re: Legends...Lets hear it..
i aint overlly keen on PBF but he should be in especially if morales is also hatton maybe but im probly being slightly bias so ill skip tht er other than them i think wlad may deserve to be in there his fought good fighters this year and not just beat them but destroyed them
Re: Legends...Lets hear it..
Mayweather will make it.
Gatti will too, not because he was world-class but because he'll go down as one of the most exciting ever.
I don't consider Castillo a HOFer at this point. Hatton needs several more notable wins as well.

i think alot of todays fighters wont be truely appreciated until they have one..
Bhop for example...People never really spoke so highly of him or really missed him bieng about until either the jt fights or tarver fight n when he left.. same with tito.. fighters like vitali and lennox have became half way legendary since they left the hw divison in this state.
peace

Personally i would say Castillo is much much better boxer then Gatti ever was.

Oh yeh he certaintly is and was hands down..But thats the straange beauty of the topic..
Its all about definitionand publicity of thyr careers and such..
Plus boxing isnt as popular today as in the ninetees...so alot of fighters that made theyr names then are safer then the ones who have yet to do so
Peace

I agree. Like I said, Gatti's not a great boxer, but he'll get in because he has been in so many memorable HBO fights.

CC...On the post....That is a common mistake many people make about the HOF...I see guys argue all the time about how so and so will not go into the HOF because he was not that good of a fighter...Truth is the HOF is not about who is the best or was the best...Of course gys who have titles i n several divisions or remained champion for years are almost always a shoe in to be inducted...But it is really about what a fighter has contributed to the sport.....a guy can be 0-100 but be worthy...More worthy than even many champions...it is about what he contributed to the sport not always what he accomplished...EG...
Lets say fighter X who is 0-100 has fought 20 world champions. He always gave them a good fight. fights that people remember. Fighter X though always lost was also a gentleman in and out of the ring. He always represented what a fighter should be....Fighter X would be a shoe in for the hall.....Are they more likely to make it if they held a title of course...But it is not about skill it is about what you have broughtto the sport over the years as a whole.....Not trying to sound like a know it all but it just seems a lot of people think only P4P guys get in
Re: Legends...Lets hear it..

At first I thought that this was amusing & that you were joking...but this is going waaaaaaaay overboard.
I like Valuev...but he's a very limited fighter that needs to improve.
Very very much like Sam Peter...he's fun to watch...but there are many many things that keep him from being a well rounded fighter & he sure as shit aint HOF worthy.
Toney on the other hand is.
Re: Legends...Lets hear it..
I know..I just said it because TITO_HBH wants to be Toney's man whore.
couldn't help myself.
But hey! in the future!! who knows!!!
(Is Primo Carnerra in the HOF?.........................
.................................................. .................................................. .................i guess thats a no....)
Re: Legends...Lets hear it..
Gotta go with Gatti for the Hall....i mean let's look at some of the guys already in there...Charley Burley back in the 40's...toiled away for years as a welterweight/middleweight - NEVER had a title fight; tough, gritty Joey Giardello in the 50's; memorable trilogy of fights with Billy Graham - only one successful title defense. And how about Bobby Chacon? Huge west coast drawing card during his day- exciting fighter; but was stripped of his title after backing out of fight with Hector Camacho on Macho's home turf. Can anybody imagine Gatti pulling something like that? Arturo has been THE most exciting boxer in the sport for 10 years - undefeated in 20 fights since 1998 until he met Baldomir. Defended IBF title 130 lb title three times - these are highlight film finishes. The Ward trilogy, the knockouts of bigger Dorin and Leija....WBC 140lb title, IBA welterweight title. The man who defined "blood and guts warrior".

Hey if it were up to me he'd already be in ;)
You know what though i really wish arturo had boxed more in his prime at some points..
I loved his wars ..But i loved to watch him box just as much.. Ive been astonished at times seeing how well arturo boxes... I remember the munoz fight that was his comeback fight and intro to 140..
I know munoz was not the same class as gatti..But he looked so impressive..
And yeh the jjl fight was one of my favourite gatti fights..He boxed very nicely in that fight..
Peace
Re: Legends...Lets hear it..
This years class is Pernell Whitaker , Roberto Duran & Ricardo Lopez.
Do any of you attend the HOF weekend in June? Its a blast.
