Something very interesting that David Estrada said about Margarito
http://boxingtalk.com/pag/article10973.html
In case you don't wanna check the link, I'll sum it up quickly. Estrada said Margarito is a hypocrite cause he didn't take his mandatory and has the nerve to mention Floyd and Mosley for not fighting him. He said that even though it doesn't necessarily mean he scared to lose and he understands that even though a Cotto fight would net him much more money, he should step up and do the right thing for the sport. And he won't take the fight unless it's 12 rounds cause he comes on late. What do you guys think?
Re: Something very interesting that David Estrada said about Margarito
wow i'm pretty shocked, i thought david was a quiet kinda guy, he's got some brass to come out with such comments, I think he feels some sort of allegience to Mosley for not beating the crap outta him too badly. ;D

I agree with him though. Those are great points and Mosley deserves all that credit and then some. He fights them all.

Yeah i do as well i suppose, at least mayweather seems to have honoured his 'truths' where as margarito seems to have just being saying it. I still don't blame Margarito for trying to play it safe to get his super fight. It seems like Mosley is after more than paydays, I have a lot of respect for him always taking a fresh challenge, while maybe not being remembered as great as Oscar, those that knew, real boxing fans will hold him in highest regard.

It's true. Said the same thing the other day. He criticizes Mayweather for "playing it safe" by selecting Baldomir as an opponent but does the same here. By all accounts, Margarito is a great guy but he has the wrong people around him or something because he is brushing Williams under the rug in order to preserve a big money fight with Cotto the same way Mayweather did with Margarito to keep a De La Hoya fight.
Re: Something very interesting that David Estrada said about Margarito
Remember, Margarito is not playing anything safe. He is choosing to fight Cotto ( a very dangerous opponent and a champion) and unify two belts as opposed to fighting a top contender (Williams) who has fought very few well known names and has no belt. And what is the WBO belt anyway? Does anyone take it seriously?

He won't be unifying though. He will just be fighting for a different title. At this point, Williams is as big of a name as he's gonna get, his proposed match with Cotto isn't until June, why not fight before then?
Cotto has the draw to call the shots now.
Re: Something very interesting that David Estrada said about Margarito
Floyd fought a weak WW champ and never had the intention of fighting Tony,Tony will fight Paul and Tony is fighting a more dangerous and proven fighter in Cotto first. As for Estrada,he needs to shut his mouth and take the fight,a 10 rounder with Tony is better than anything I have seen his name mentioned with. And Shane deserves credit for fighting Collazo to an extent....his first choice was Baldo(wtf I know!),second was Cintron AND THEN Collazo.

He's not fighting before then because he has injured his wrist and ankle and does not want to make them worse,so by fighting a 10 rounder in March,he is checking the injuries and keeping any rust away, and I'm sure the winner of Tony Cotto will fight Williams and Im even more sure that Tony will fight Paul somewhere down the line.
Most of the he's ducking Paul is from PBF fans/guys who dislike Tony, the fact is Tony has never asked, who is Paul, who has he beat etc etc. He has a shot at the biggest fight of his career against a better fighter,Williams isn't going anywhere either. Trust me on this, Tony will fight Paul. Name me one reason he would duck Paul yet fight Cotto?!It's circumstance! In hindsight,I wish he had not fought Clottey and fought Paul instead at that time.

I wish he fought Paul instead of Clottey at the time too cause then this wouldn't even be a topic of conversation but the fact is he didn't. You know how funny this boxing thing is sometimes too so wouldn't it be funny if he forfeits his belt and then Floyd says he wants to fight Cotto and Arum makes that fight instead. Tony would really feel like he was left out to dry then. Then he would probably say Cotto ducked him while Cotto is just chasing bigger money to fight Floyd.

Which is the same thing I was trying to get you to see months ago about why Floyd wouldn't fight Margarito.
Oscar De La Hoya & a boatload of fwockin cash.
If dollars can make sense for Antonio Margarito...you can bet your ass that they'd make the same sense for Floyd...what with shoes being on opposite feet-see's now & all. ;D
That's feet-see's...not to be confused with feces. :-X

Do I really need to?? Try Money...... You think if he lost to Paul Williams he'd still get the Cotto fight?? Of course not, so there's your reason right there. And Williams is his mandatory. Cotto's fighting his mandatory before he meets Margarito.. So you put two and two together. I hate this, well Tony's mandatory is a dangerous fighter so therefore it's fine if he just brushes him aside and fights Cotto to preserve the payday..Kind of funny to see the shoe so totally on the other foot like Wacko said... This is the exact same thing Tony fans tried to shit on Floyd for originally, and Maragarito was never his mandatory.
