How would SPinks vs. Mayweather go?
I was watching Spinks vs. Judah II, and I was like this guy may very well have what it takes to beat Mayweather... He is about the same speed though a little slower, but he is a great boxer, and though Zab could KO him, Mayweather doesn't even close to as hard as Zab, and Zab had a really hard time fighting Spinks on the outside while it took Mayweather while to figure out Zab, and granted once he did he dominated Zab way more than SPinks did, but Mayweather was more offensive in that fight than Spinks was... I think it would be a great fight between two very fast, and very defensive minded fighters.

spinks def has speed but not on PBF speed level. spinks imo best quality is his elusiveness. spinks lacks any real serious power in either hands so i dont see him flooring pbf, or even stopping him. i think pbf would school spinks it would be highly competitive for like the first 3-4rounds then much like the judah fight pbf will take over and dominate him for the rest of the fight and possibly ending in a tko against the ropes again haahha.
personally i wanted pbf to fight spinks first just so his body knows how to adjust the weight and cop another belt to have as collateral to get more of the purse for the oscar show down, but of course pbf skips all that and never fighting at this weight class ever puts him more at question against oscar.

also going back to spinks last fight for a point of reference shows us that spinks has conditioning issues and does not last thru out the later rounds he was so sluggish and exhausted that the fight almost slipped away. but he did enough in the earlier rounds to deserve the win. i personally thought he won too.

I only saw his second fight against Zab so thats what I am going by, and he was about the same speed as Zab there, and Zab proved that he on the same level as Mayweather, competing with Zab in terms of speed is almost the same as competing with Mayweather in speed, but either than that I'm not sure if Spinks could deal with Mayweather's pressure, and thats what I find intriguing.

Didn't see that fight, but I would imagine that Spinks would come in shape for afight against PBF who is #1 p4p... hell even Zab came in focused against Mayweather.

UD for Floyd after 12 uneventful rounds .
Both quite well matched but neither guy has the power to hurt the other and both would be prtecting their whiskers so it has decision fight written all over it .
Spinks had a close fight with Mayorga who is as crude and wild as they come . PBF is technically one of the best in the sport and knows too much for Corey . After 12 rounds of feints , movement , jabbing and countering Floyds class will tell and he'd win this 1 pretty wide .

If it was a completely focused Spinks...The one without his freaking entourage coming to the ring and rapping telling him how great he is.....The same Spinks from the first Judah fight...at 147 IMO it wouldn't be that big of an upset if he won....It would go the distance of course but I could see Spinks pulling out a SD.....Of course his head would get so big it would explode and Floyd would murder him in the rematch but....That is another story

Mayweather by UD, I think it's pretty clear.
Spinks beats people with speed and finesse, but no one plays that speed/defense game better than Floyd. You can't outbox a great boxer. If Floyd loses before he gets old, it will be to a big physical fighter who can swarm him and land big power shots. That is not Cory Spinks.

What Zab showed in the second fight was that he's aggresive in-outs worked well.
Spinks is pretty fast with his hands but although he has clever feet, he was seen to be lacking in keeping away from Zabs 1-2's.
For me this shows that Floyd would have no problem pot shoting Spinks almost at will.
In regards to what would be comming back, apart from having no power... that jab of Spinks disapeared in the second fight, so im not that impressed.
However, i dont see Floyd engaging as much as to cause a stoppage (unless the corner pulled Spinks out).
Floyd by one sided UD.

Noting about Spinks' fights wtih Mayorga or Karmazin mean anything about his fight with Mayweather because IMO he can't deal with a puncher with pressure all that well. However Mayweather hit with more substantial punches against Zab in the first 4 rounds though he landed more, and one reason IMO is because he was comming forward trying to pressure Zab, but also Zab was able to get out of the way of Mayweather's lead right hand which really doesn't work all that well from a distance against a guy almost as fast as Mayweather. ANother thing is that Zab couldn't catch SPinks with 1-2 until 6 or 7 rounds into the fight, and that even in the second fight Spinks was still up on points when he lost, but there are other factors like Zab isn't very good against quick southpaws like in his fight against Demarcus Corley, and that SPinks just had his number while PBF is much better against a variety of opponents so for me it is an interesting match up.

Not sure how easily it would go...but one thing can be said for sure...it would end up with the winner down on hands & knees praising god & then crying like a little girl that just dropped her popsicle in a pile of cow poop.
That's the guaranteed outcome...that & Floyd being the little girl down on hands & knees praising god & then crying over her dropped popsicle. :P

It's not hard to picture a scenario of Spinks winning. I think Spinks is pretty good. He took a year off a ko loss and beat Roman Karmazin at a higher weight, that impressed me.
Spinks is a very good fighter, I don't think he gets the credit he deserves for what he's done though. He's only been dropped by Zab Judah who is a hard punching Welterweight and Zab was the only person to drop him.
The first Zab Spinks fight was a classic(in my opinion) there was high drama in that fight and both fighters did good rounds where they were beating the other. Spinks dominated Zab for 3 rounds and then Zab turned it on and started taking roundss and then it was back and forth between Zab and Cory all night and then the high drama Spinks knocked Zab down in the 11th and then Zab came back to knock Spinks down in the final seconds of the 12th and almost stopped him.
I think Harold had it right at a draw. But keep in mind that there wouldn't have been a rematch if Zab hadn't knocked Cory down in that final round so you put that together you get a very good fight that really doesn't get a lot of credit because it was more of a boxing match then a slugfest.
Some slugfests may be classics but to me a classic can be more then a slugfest.
The only weakness I see Cory having is that he's open for awkward right hands like the one Karmazin threw, but credit after that he dominated till round 8 and then slowed down a lot.
But that was his first fight at 154 so I give him some slack. I want to see how he looks against Jones before I gauge how he would do against Mayweather because for 6 rounds of the Karmazin fight I saw someone who could beat Floyd Mayweather.
But thats just my opinion
