Should Lampley have said something about the alleged charges agaianst him?
Appraently Lampley and his cronies believe silence is golden. What do you think?
Re: Should Lampley have said something about the alleged charges agaianst him?
He did the right thing by staying nothing. Last night was not the place for it. If he would have said something, it would of looked like was trying to convince the public he's innocent. Let the courts handle it. Evidentially the facts that the bitch is lying will come out and it'll be over.

I'm sure his lawyer advised to not say anything, why would he?
Lampley: Hatton continues to clinch, and by the way I've been charged with beating my girl
but it's a lie.
If it was a show ABOUT Lampley then yes he should absolutely say something, but it's
a Fight Night, Castillo and Hatton are the topics, period.

Yep.

I must say, that does make me have second thoughts. Merchant and crew have no trouble dissing others. What's good for the goose may be good for the gander, but Violent Demise does make a compelling point and I'd have to go with it.
Re: Should Lampley have said something about the alleged charges agaianst him?
Lampley did the right thing, it he wants to talk about himself he should do it when he isn't on HBO's time. I'm saying this, but really it isn't Jim Lampley's decision if he says anything is it, its HBO's.
Re: Should Lampley have said something about the alleged charges agaianst him?
Lampley really isn't important enough that the general public even cares about his personal life. Don't get me wrong, I like him as a commentator, but him bringing it up would almost be a sign of arrogance. As mentioned before, the night wasn't about him.

Agreed. Good point!

They sure dont hesitate to reveal a fighters past although it has nothing to do with the fight itself. Lampley should have been put on the spot by merchant that would have made for great tv, it would have certainly been more entertaining than watching Hatton in the second half of that fight, he sure stunk up the joint.

lol that is certainly true. Just off the top of my head I can remember them telling us that repeatedly that Floyd's dad was in prison for cocaine trafficking, that Paul Briggs was sexually abused as a child (slightly fucking sensative information I would have thought!) that one other fighter who I can't remember slept in bed with his parents until he was 13 and countless others I can't remember right now.

Should he have said something?
Absolutely not. You're innocent until proven guilty. Lampley's personal problems had nothing to do with the event and by focusing on the fights he delivered another professional performance that we've come to know him for.
Violent Demise is right. Let the justice system handle it.

i just think it's funny they love to bring up PBF alleged incidents but not the spot lights on him and eveybodys got lock jaw.
