Hatton/Melfrick taylor same faith ?
Remember taylor not being competitive at the weight he was meant for because he could no longer make the weight and moving up and getting destroyed by terry norris i am afraid the same faith awaits little Ricky. If only his people would have not try to protect their investment by wasting what he had fighting tomato cans he would have looked awesome against any of the major players if he had fought anyone of them a year ago, but its too late now his conditioning at 140 has betrayed him and at 147 hes like a fish out of water. Meldrick was like a shooting star and so was Ricky its just too bad when he was at his best he was'nt allowed to face the tough comp and i dont mean the 1 fight he had with a past his prime Kostya. U know how Vargas was pushed too quick and it did not pay off, well the opposite would have happend to Ricky if he was pushed too quick, he would have conquered a few of the elite comp. Everyone has to realize when your strength is your work rate and conditioning, you dont last very long in this sport and they should definitely move u along a little faster than others with different strenghts.

Hmmm... I think they are both Greek Orthodox... Or was Taylor Greek southpaw??
Seriously man - the guy is only 28 yrs old and in his next fight he will get himself in awesome shape and destroy JLC. Then everybody will think the sun shines out of his arse again.
People are so quick to criticise an unbeaten 28yr old 2 weight world champion with the world at his feet...

i love posts like this; when someone is totally clueless to what the hell is actually happening, hears a snippet of a convo here and there and then posts garbage.
Before you think I'm some hatton lover, read the threads from the last couple days, iv been highly critical; Hatton has never had a problem making 140, he has just come down from, what was most likely the heaviest he has been in between his fights (around 180?) and one week ago he was weighed at 137! his nutritionist ordered him to put weight on! he has Castillo lined up for June, a small week brake and he will be back in the gym, there is no time for him to fuck about this time, he wont have an option to balloon up - when hatton does train he is fairly strict and trains freaking well
What elites are these then? after Tszyu he looked good, but in now way ready for mayweather! he wasn't big enough for gatti just then, gatti wanted to look up at 147, cotto was by no means an elite then, Cotto has been respected but his stock has trebled since hitting 147 - one of the top dogs at 140 was Vivian Harris, thats who hatton was going for, wanted everything was pretty much set in stone until Harris got him self beat, was Ricky's fault was it matey?
He is 28 years old, he is far from past it, he is far from being in trouble and the 'damage' of his in between life style is far from irreversible. He has something like 14 weeks for Castillo, by then he will be a hell of allot fitter, and his body allot stronger and allot more durable, you can bet your freaking house on that.
:sadclick: cleary have a problem with Hatton and clearly clueless about him
Re: Hatton/Melfrick taylor same faith ?
...and why was Tszyu past his prime?? becuase he lost??
Didn't seem past his prime when he blew away (the then number 1 and favourite) Sharmba Mitchell inside 3 rounds.
Not much happend between the 2 fights to make him past his prime. He had had less fights than Hatton and had not been any wars to make him past his prime after 30 odd fights.
Was he past his prime against Philips, coz he was a sht load better against Hatton!!

it wasnt taylor moving up that done it chavez destroyed him as a fighter a bit of taylor was left in the ring that night he was never the same totally different to hatton
Re: Hatton/Melfrick taylor same faith ?
Totally agree ICB.....Chavez was Taylor's platform to rise to superstardom and he was winning until that huge right cross.
Also inspite of if he won or lost JCC brutalized Meldrick Taylor...he was all kinds of busted up after that fight, Ricky has never been physically worn down like that
