Hatton vs Castillo...what will it all mean?

A little discussion I wanted to get going amongst us girls...apparently...a shit pot load of you were very VERY discouraged & let down by the HBO Hatton & Castillo warm up fights.

Honestly...I'm a bit shocked. Surely I was not pleased with Castillo...basically...because I just aint a fan of the man...but indeed...he did look like shit...shat...shot...whatever.

Hatton I have to disagree on. I think that he looked amazing in the first half of the fight until Urango caught him with a vicious body shot that put the Brit on the hide for the rest of the night. I hate to be the odd man out here, but I watched the fight wasted as fwock during the DRBR coverage with a chum or two in the theatre & they also thought that it was a cracker of a fight.

I'm just coRnfused here.

Anywho, apparently...around the world...the voices & powers that be are screaming about Rick's training & conditioning. It's been a big joke between us Yanks on the forum...but apparently...this has become an issue.

I address everyone on this & I aint trying to take away from Smashup on this one...WTF is going on here with Ricky?

He's performed poorly against Collazo...but I say that he was out of his limit of weight classes. He came down & honestly I think he showed out & just go caught...but what am I missing? I want some info from everyone...because I shit you not...the minute I start to like a gent...you fwockers all switch sides & leave poor ole' Wacko all out in the lurch by his lonesome.

Is Hatton worthy of Wacko's love? Heh heh heh. You can damned well bet that ole' CuteMick'll get a chubby over that one.

Seriously...has no one considered that the drop in weight is the killer of Hatton? Read this...click the link below...if the kid actually has to drop some 30 to 40lbs...that shit aint healthy.

I don't think JLC is shot, but I think Hatton will win it. He seems too fast and able to take a good shot. I don't think the fight means anything other than a good fight. Hatton has the advantage because he's in his prime. That's all.

Same as when he fought Tszyu.... Not quite shot, but definitely slowing down some. It will be entertaining and competetive, but I think Hatton will win.

And I am not a Hatton fan, just a fight fan.

As far as both of their performances. They were both decent, Hatton had a better showing, but not the greatest. I think he matured a bit and followed the advice of his corner. JLC kept up a high work rate and just had a tough fighter in front of him. He definitely did not look shot to me. He did look a little rusty, and slower. He finally turned it up in the last few rounds and looked like he was trying to win. After as many fights as JLC has had can you blame him for not being excited and looking average? This was supposed to be a tuneup. He just ended up with a tougher fighter than he expected. That's my take.

I am gonna take a stab at this in three parts, Castillo vs. Ngoudjo, Hatton vs. Urango and finally Hatton vs. Castillo.

Castillo vs. Ngoudjo - I had Castillo ahead 7-5 in rounds, doing just enough to win, the edge I gave him in rounds was because 7 of the 12 rounds, he controlled the pace and while being less active was more in control. Castillo really dissapointed me in this fight, two words I would use to describe him in this fight would be LAZY and CONSERVATIVE. Ngoudjo impressed me, he was really trying to press the action, but it looked to me that he needed to pace himself a little more, he could have swept those last three rounds if he hadn't tired.

Hatton vs. Urango - The problem with Ricky fighting the smart fight at the end is that this is still him "interview period" if you will with HBO, I actually got a lot of my friends who had never seen him before to watch because it was free, their response was unanimous "NOT IMPRESSED", when I asked if they would watch him take on Castillo, a simple "NO" came out. Ricky did the right thing, but for the casual boxing fan this was his chance to show the world "12 ROUNDS OF NON-STOP ACTION" which was not the case. I can appreciate a smart fight, just like when Mayweather put on a master-class against Baldomir, but all-in-all boxing is in the entertainment industry and casual fans that watch boxing want
to see bloodbaths.

Hatton vs. Castillo - I've heard people saying Castillo is a shot fighter and that if Ricky beats him it means nothing. I disagree, I submit that Castillo was just lazy against Ngoudjo. BOTH guys are on the p4p list and it should be a nice, dirty fight with low blows, lots of cuts, headbutts etc.
Hatton beats Castillo - I will give Ricky credit, Castillo is tough and knows how to take a punch.
Castillo beats Hatton - Castillo shows he can still fight when he feels like it.

My prediction Castillo by late TKO - reason being he is very smart about his body shots and it may take him more shots than Urango to feel it, but he will feel it.
