Somsak Sithchatchawal vs Mahyar Monshipour - RING FIGHT OF YEAR

this has probably been put on here before but here it is again for those who might have missed it to enjoy.

Just bought latest Ring and it names this fight as fight of 2006 - have to admit I had never heard of it before. Was in France March last year. Anyway I just watched it on youtube and I was speechless. Its all out war from start to finish with a sensational ending

Watch it - if not time to watch it in full just watch Part 4 with the last two rounds , you won't be disappointed ;)

Though for me FOTY was Vasquez-Gonzalez edge to the caliber of fighters....

bad stoppage imo thou after the effort put in to stop the fight 15 seconds from the end is ridiculous

was it not a 12 rounder ?

have to admit though, after watching it through, like you I thought the ref leapt in a bit too quickly and should have given him a few more seconds at least

I remember seeing that for the 1st time some while ago and I was in awe of the excitement and effort both those guys provided. No doubt had it taken place on HBO and in america it would be lorded as one of the greatest fights of all time!! It's a shame some of the fights in other countries get overlooked, but nice work by the ring mag for recognising it
