Possible superfight Mosley vs Cotto in June?

Note: in the paper there where 3 articles about this issue the money that Cotto's camp asked is not in this link is in another article that they did not put i their website( the newspaper that is)

I read today in the local paper here at Puerto Rico http://www.vocero.com/noticias.asp?s=Deportes&n=87143
that SSM is interest in a great fight agains Cotto in the summer. To translate what is says I will resume to the impostant notes.

" Cotto's camp let Golden Boy Promotions know that since Mosley mention tha Name Cotto that they are available in June since MArgarito will fight P.Williams but since this is gonna be a PPV mega fight he will like a decent cut $$ let's say around the $5 million dollars os so a little less or a little more to be fair since this is a very lucrative fight."

Any comments.


Mine is that I'm glad Cotto is letting all know he is ready to step up to the elite.

This would be a brilliant,brilliant fight imo and a chance to finally see if Cotto (as i suspect he is) is the real deal 8)

I really wanted to see Cotto - Margarito to weed out the pretender, then have Mosley take Cot.. I mean the winner of that.
Then have the Mosl... I mean the winner of that take on Mayweather.
But by the time all that is done, Mosley would be like 8 million years old.

but this sounds like good makings for a Mosley - PBF year end fight. I like I like.

Thats exactly what i figure would happen since SSM said he wanted to stay active and fight in June (June 9 rings a bell). It will be great to see my boy step up to the challenge and take SSM out!!! He deserves to be in the top 5 of the P4P and with this he should definitely do so. :laugh:

I think pretty much everyone on this board would like to see this fight happen. I know I would buy it.

I like both guys and i think that this would be a good fight for boxing. Tough fight to call but i think Cotto would probably win by decision. Even though Mosley looked good the other night. I still think he is going to look old against a fighter like Cotto.

If that happens? Shoe-in no question. PBF taking out ODLH and SSM in one year ain't too shabby either.
Whoever ends up winning fighter of the year would've done some amazing things by year end.
Because this year is looking faaaantastic.

:coolclick: agreed, Boxing needs a huge year this year, with all the MMA getting ready to take over the PPV spots and all.

Again I am baffled on how easy people are gonna try to pick Cotto over Mosely, at 147 Mosely hadnt lost a step and still has damn good handspeed, and just outclassed a fast handed tricky southpaw...

Mosely has just as goodpower as Cotto and even faster hands to go with a tremendous beard, no one could say otherwise. Cotto is the future NO DOUBT and I am excited about his future, but Shane still has enough left coupled with his experience going against Cotto's inexperience... Mosely will give Cotto his first loss and there will be no shame in it whatsoever.... ;)

I think Mosely will give Cotto a boxing lesson to be honest. UD 117-113 or therabouts.

Mosely back at 147lb cleans the house.

Mayweather though? I'd still fancy the pretty boy in that one.

This would certainly be a great fight if it happens.

However, I don't think it's the "smart" move for Cotto. He's only had one fight at 147 and if he takes the fight, he's in there with a fast, experienced fighter who's just coming down from 154.

Cotto's smart move would be to fight someone of Margarito's class, and move up to the Mosley level a fight or two down the road.
But if Cotto takes the risk now, I won't blame him.

i think Cotto is the real deal but he i don't think he could beat shane or PBF. i think he could take hatton though
