I've always wondered, is it possible to make it thru boot camp without getting chewed out like this by the drill sgt.s? Surely if there were enough people worse than you, they'd chew them out all the time and not have the time to cuss at you. ???

you're gonna get pushed to your limits....however there should be some limitations.....of course if they are marines they are insane to begin with....you kinda ask for it when it comes to marines...come on...it's all they have....:)Quote:

1) they can't touch him
2) they are training him to deal with pressure and stress,that might save his life one day
3) trainees are given cards now, yellow and red. If they show the yellow card it means the instuctor has to back off. Red and the exersice is stopped and an inquiry held. My buddy is a CPO II in the canadian navy and he told me this.
The drill sgts. aren't supposed to hit you, but that doesn't mean they won't. I've never heard of the cards though.Quote:

I've heard they do some crazy hazing stuff to new recruits to. This must of been about 10 years ago I remember seeing it on the news with a warning to have your kids leave the room before it showed. But I stayed in the room anyways and they showed this video of marines getting hazed by having a medal or something stuck into their chest by a sharp pin then a line of other marines came up and punched it as hard as they could. Ouch
That wasn't boot camp. They were Marines that graduated jump school and they were "pinning" on their wings. The video was pretty bad. I experienced some hazing, but that video was crazy. If someone hit me as hard as they were doing in the video there would have been a fight.
As far as the recruit....
a. i never seen happen
b. seen a couple of times
c. happens most often in the beginning but usually they get over it.
