I just recently finished readind "Hands of Stone". I thought it was a great book. It really covers a lot about Roberto Duran. It covers his life from start to today, and it covers the fights well too

Well it gives different accounts from different people. My opinion of him didnt go up or down after reading the book. Hes still my idol for his accomplishments in the ring. Most Tyson autobiographies make him a sympethetic character but this book doesnt do anything like that

Earnie Shavers: Welcome to the Big Time
Larry Holmes: Against the Odds
Ring of Hate: Joe Louis Vs. Max Schmeling The Fight of the Century
The Devil and Sonny Liston
Standing Eight: The Story of Jesus Chavez
Heavy Justice: The Trial of Mike Tyson
Living in the Shadows: The Legend and the Legacy of Marvis and Joe Frazier
Ghosts of Manila: The Blood Feud Between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier
Thinkin Big: The Story of James "Quick" Tillis

I own and read these books. The Sonny Liston one was the best one. The James Tillis one made me laugh. I can't believe he actually put out a book
Re: Whats the best boxers book you've read?
My two favorites were Jake Lamotta's "Raging Bull" and Rocky Graziano's "Somebody up there Likes Me."

the books, haven't read either but seen raging bull with De Niro, an rockys story wiht Newman, brilliant! Newman even gets his voice...
Re: Whats the best boxers book you've read?
The book reveals SOOOOO much more of the Lamotta story than the movie. If you liked the movie you'll love the book. The Lamotta and Graziano stories were very similar... in fact they crossed at one point. Raging Bull has a funny story in about Graziano and Lamotta being in the same youth detention center, and Graziano assisting Lamotta in an ill-fated escape attempt.
Re: Whats the best boxers book you've read?
