Hatton is not Done....and you will realise this on June 23rd
Just from reading around different topics on this forum and i'm increasingly finding the phrase "Hatton is done"
Well that is a matter of opinion but i people are not realising that his last 2 fights have been against bigger southpaws. No big deal???? Except it is when it's Ricky Hatton!
He's looked bad/or been in trouble against the 3 decent bigger southpaws he has faced. Magee had in down in round 1 and hurt in round 2, Collazo had him hurt quite a few times and Urango had him hurt in round 5. Obviously the flush blows will hurt more when landed by the bigger stronger guy, but Hatton's seeming inability to fully concentrate on his opponents southpaw style, means he ships more than he should do. Therefore he hasn't looked that good.
BUT...
That doens't mean he is done......it justs means he struggles against strong southpaws.
He's not fought an orhtadox fighter for 16 months and that was Carlos Maussa....so make it 21 months ;D
Therefore i predict that the Hitman looks shit hot on June 23rd in an absolute cracker.

I wouldn't say Hatton is done, overratted definitely but certainly not done.
I've never understood people jumping to his defense about being unable to fight southpaws though.
It's such a lame excuse. I don't recall people making a defense for other fighters using this same logic, for example arguing that Cory Spinks is a p4p fighter just he can't go 12 rounds, or Arturo Gatti is definitely p4p he's just crap against anybody better than him? ???
If Hatton is bad against southpaws then thats a weakness, plain and simple.
To me that drops him out of the top 10 p4p, he's no good against unorthadox fighters, southpaws and people bigger than him.
Yet he's still p4p! Gimme a break.
Mike Tyson was the greatest heavyweight of all time, he just couldnt cope with fighters mentally stronger than him, perlease!! ::**

To be fair I wouldnt class Maussa as an orthodox fighter. Of course Hatton isnt done and far from it. But he has struggled to look good against bloody awkward opponents recently...
I do think Hatton will look very good against Castillo though....

You forgot to mention that he keeps winning despite his weaknesses, that has to mean something no?

While he without a shadow of a doubt my favourtie fighter...i don't think he is top ten p4p. It is a big weakness and it is as plain and simple as you say it is. However the fact that he keeps on winning regardless, should be more of a factor when determing the p4p rankings. IMO that is much more important than looking good. That's just the way i hang ;)

Possibly the word 'done' is a little harsh, however Hatton needs a good convincing win against Castillo to re-establish himself as an elite fighter. The win against Tszyu was a great one for him but that was two years ago and KT was 36, inactive and has a serious shoulder injury.
He needs to knock Castillo out to convince a lot of people he isn't 'done'

Castillo vs Hatton ...This kind of fights are determined by who comes in the fight with better conditioning because these two fighters have the same style both of them like to keep charging so whoever comes in this fight with better conditioning is going to win I see Hatton winning this one tho.
