Haye books Bonin fight at Heavyweight

So despite the promises that Haye would be showing off his heavyweight credentials against a top 15 fighter, he is set to fight Tomasz Bonin, rated by boxrec at the lofty position of 64th in the world. His record stands at a reasonable 37-1, but when you see that one defeat came against Audley "where's my career gone" Harrison, it suggests to me that he's been doing his fighting against nobodies and washed up fighters, and I don't recognise any of those names.
Bit disappointing, but Haye says that nobody in the real top 15 would take him on. Disappointing all around, and if Haye doesn't knock this guy out then it will be a poor result for him.
Re: Haye books Bonin fight at Heavyweight
Bonin is ranked 12th by the WBC though and since this is Haye's first fight at heavy and he doesnt even plan on staying there yet its not too bad. Before moving permanently into the heavys Haye still wants to fight for the WBC belt at cruiser weight so beating a WBC ranked heavy certainly wont damage his chances there. Expect bigger things from him up at heavyweight once hes cleared up the cruisers.
Re: Haye books Bonin fight at Heavyweight
its reasonable considering its a stopgap opponent. Bonin seemed quite good against Audley, probably the best fighter Audley fought before the williams fight, and his record suggests he's decent too. Not a huge puncher by heavyweight standards but I can forgive David for that. David should win coz Bonin is quite short and as long as he sticks to his boxing and uses the jab he should get by ok. It'll proly be a tear-up though knowing haye.
Far better than the opponent Enzo Mac has got lined up, at least this shows a bit of ambition.
I have to say that seeing that before and after pic where it shows how much weight he's put on I get the feeling he might elect to stay at heavyweight and forgo the cruiserweight title. if he impresses against this guy would it be worth his time moving straight to heavyweight and forgetting about the cruiserweight title? Take on the likes of Monte Barret or Zuri Lawrence or Robert Hawkins or some quality American journeyman to raise his profile and take a run for the title.
