I was going through some boxes I had put away about 3 years ago when I first moved into my house, that I never bothered to open.
Why? I have no idea I might have just opened' em and saw miscellanous/random things and just closed the box up and put it to the side.
Well for some reason I was looking an extension cord and I saw the box and I opened it and I just started going through it.... Well at the bottom of the box I found some VHS tapes some marked others not. I found my graduation video, my High School videoa thats sold by the school (profesionally done) 8) and amongst all this I found some fights. I found B-Hop vs. Joppy, Alex Garcia vs. Tarvis Simms, Mayorga vs. Spinks and others...

But what I'm trying to get to is that I found IMO one of the best 1 rd. fights you'll ever see I know someone else here when I brought it up said they had also seen this on TV...
It took place 1-8-2003 on the weekly show called 'Solo Boxeo' it was Manuel Gomez vs. Jeffrey Hill. Gomez would later face Antonio Margarito and he Gomez would be KO'ed in 1 round..... So I found the fight and I recorded it with my picture camera soooo excuse the quality and also cause the tape was away in box.... I hope you enjoy the fight as much as I did when I saw this live for the 1st time and today when I saw it again as I have not seen it since then.... I don't wanna give it away so just hit play and enjoy!!

What a fight that was, I still remember when I recorded it I was living in a apartment and watching Solo Boxeo as I did almost every Friday I had a 'Corona' (beer) and chinese food ;D

I remember as it happened I was jumping and yelling in disbilief at what I just had witnessed.... Then they announced they would replay the fight so I put my food down and quicly scrambled for a VHS tape and now 3 years later I found it.... ;D

that was a great fight :)

But it was more or less Gomez getting a beating then landing the ko punch, it wasn't a back anf forth slugfest..

But beggers can't be choosers :coolclick: for the video :)

I just remembered who it was that had said they seen it it was "rsan-chez" but I wen't to his profile and he ain't been here since Sept. 2006. :(

Thats what makes this a great fight. That Gomez was getting beat and then BOOM! good night Hill......

Wow haha that was a HUGE punch. Gomez was getting rocked big time with those straight punches but never stopped coming forward. One of the bigger turnarounds I've ever seen really...CC 1138 Mick fantastic fight.

Not only was that a great round, but one of the better 1 punch KO's I've seen.

I'm telling you when I first saw this live I dropped my beer, food and all I could not belive it especially after I remember saying Gomez was done.....
The reaction of the commentators was to me what also made it more exciting as they screamed!!
Also seconds before Gomez lands the right hand one of the commentators said 'He needs to tie him up, He needs to tie him up" meaning Gomez to tie up Hill and buy himself time.... And then the right hand comes just seconds after that.....

I sware I can't stop watching it and that I know of this is the only copy of it floating around I've looked for it everywhere as I remember recording it and all but at one point I thought I had lost this tape....

Yeah! Gomez with stood that assault, thats why when they stopped his fight against Margarito I thought it was premature and it shoudn't have been stopped.... The ref. saw that Gomez spit his mouth piece and that ultimately is what cause the hault to the bout....

Nonetheless this Gomez-Hill fight is just insane..... :o
