Why is it that when talking about the greatest Lightheavyweight nobody mentions Ezzard Charles
probably because they forget how good he was at lightheavy i know him as heavyweight and me being from younger generation until few months ago ill be honest i didnt even know he was lightheavyweight all fights i see on tv and ect they show him as heavy and to answer your question its prolly because he doesnt get much exposure to how good he was at lightheavyQuote:

I will just admit that I have never heard of him. He must be before my time or when I was very young (I was born 1981) because I have not really scraped the surface when it comes to older fights apart from the big names at heavyweight. Another name to my list though (I have about 80 to look into) I cant wait to find out about them all when I have the time.
I am going to insert a little clip here . Charley Burley -vs- Billy Smith II its just a short clip of some rounds in the fight , enjoy O0Quote:

A lot of people think he was at his best at light heavy but he didn't fight enough there. He never fought for the title at light heavy and even with wins over Moore, Burley, Bivins and Maxim, they all came fairly early in his career. Especially the Burley and first Maxim fights. All of his biggest fights, including the last Maxim fight, were at heavyweight. Archie Moore had longgevity in the division and had the bigger wins.
Great fighter though, his fight with Marciano was one of the best fights ever, huge turnaround in that one.
