Boxing Home Gym
I have some heavy bags and speed bags in my garage. My problem is that the finished concrete floor on my garage is too slippery especially when I am using the jump rope. It’s also really hard on my knees and ankles. I was thinking of buying some rubber mats but they can be really expensive. What do you recommend that I do? Thank you.

Re: Boxing Home Gym
Some of the local clubs in my area have cement floors.
For skipping they build 'skipping boards' a timber square made of planks.
I'm not too sure of the finer points RE how they make it and stop it from slipping around on the ground but it's meant to be better for skipping because it has some bounce in it.
Only problem with that is you have an area which can only be used for skipping and maybe a little footwork which isn't very space efficient for a home gym set up.
I'm not sure timber would be very economical either but I wouldn't skip on cement too much - it'll cost you in medical expenses!

Some low pile carpeting might help with the slipping. I agree with Sharla though. If you can find a way to do a raised wooden floor, your joints'll thank you for it.
