Just ordered a beast new computer!

My brother has been on at me for years to play Battlefield 2 online with him. I finally tried this week but my computer was too slow to run it properly and I kept getting killed as a result of the slowdown and lag........

Anways in an effort to beat my brother I've just laid £1100 on a behemoth of a base unit.

Dual core E6600 processor
2 gig DDR3 ram
Nvidea 8800GTX graphics card with 768 mb of memory 8)
500 gig Sata drive
150 gig 1000 rpm Raptor drive

Can't wait till this baby arrives, I'll be kicking little bro's ass on the battlefield now in no time ::**

On the downside £1100 is the same as I spent on my car! :'(

I've still got that game some where... I'm gonna rub it in by destroying you on it from my 6 year old PC... :P

Shoulda just gotten an Xbox 360 imho ;)

I did have an Xbox 360 but sold it because I've got a 36in CRT and having it on anything less than a 40 in Hi Def LCD just irritated me.

I didn't want to buy a screen like that so better to buy a new computer as I use it for everything.

Plus I want to play that new Far Cry game Crysis when it comes out in a couple months.

The other thing is brotherly rivalry. My brother got a new pc just before Christmas that shat all over mine. I couldn't let that stand! 8)

I've never played online before last week, well unless you count yahoo chess :P

It's absolutely awesome though in a pure and unadulturated, nerdy way! I've even bought my brother and I headsets so we can talk on the battlefield together!

Now I'm just waiting for this pc to turn up so I can play properly!

Let me know once it arrives I will be insteresting to play online with a saddo friend.

hahah you got that right if you start with BF2 but I come from desert combat mod so it was all good for me ;D

Lol I know what you mean about the helicopters. Every time I try I just take off, veer to the left and crash.

One time it was hilarious as we were the US trying to take an island and I got in the chopper with loads of others expecting to be gunner. But I was the pilot and everyone kept yelling 'GO,GO.GO!!'

So I took off in our fully loaded chopper and immediately crashed into the sea. It was hilarious most of passengers dies, a couple parachuted out and were seen floundering in the ocean.

2 minutes later there was a vote to boot me from the server :-\ :P

I will do definitely once I get this new beast arrives. My old comp has been a bit shit for games really so havn't played anything for a couple years since Far Cry was released.

Thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it. :P
