Anyone seen the alternate Rocky ending?
Just got the retail dvd, the alternate ending is awesome, I preferred it to the actual one.
Basically, it's a split decision but when Buffer announces the winner it goes.
and the winner, and STILL......... at this point Tarver raises his hands,
and he goes onto say, 'the Philadelphia champion Rocky Balboa!' and the crowd goes mental.
Then Rocky leaves the arena and Larry Merchant interviews Tarver who is upset but refuses to make any excuses saying Balboa fought a great fight and that he won't make any excuses about breaking his hand.
Finally Merchant asks Tarver if there is anything special he will take away from tonight, to which he replies, 'Yeah, nothing's over until it's over',
Ok so it's a cliche of epic proportions but I liked it :P

You're such a thief, i hope you know that the whole movie industry sees that post, and carries out a chwa-ptoo, spit on the floor in disgust at your lack of morality. You wouldn't steal a car....you wouldn't steal a 12in vibrator with gel nodules, so why steal a movie? (I think that's how the anti-piracy thing at the start of dvd's go)

Thats where you are completely and utterly wrong though buddy.
You see if I could get away with it I WOULD steal a car, and if I had a pussy I WOULD steal a 12 in vibrator with gel nodules.
I'm not yet funding terrorism though but again if there was money in it and I couldn't get caught I'd have a website selling C4, Semtex and lots of bodywrap. :P
JIHAD!!!

Hollywood caring about morality is like Don King caring about honesty. Don't be confused about all their whining and complaining about losing money to bootleggers, they still are getting seriously paid for doing nothing more than just tossing dollars at a project, and in this case a proven franchise. I am going to wait for March 20th when this comes out on DVD to pick it up but I don't see any problem with someone getting the bootleg. Do you think I give two shakes if the Weinsteins lose out on some cash? Nope. The only reason the release date in theaters and for rental is so far is so they can make as much money possible from each, so I'm glad someone out there is giving them a dose of their own medicine. Besides alot of times the directors and actors in a project don't get a percentage of sales so the only people getting screwed is the big wigs who are out to screw you in the first place.
I consider bootlegs free promotion. Some people watch them and decide to go see a movie that they wouldn't have seen in the first place and some people watch a movie that they wouldn't have saw in the theaters in the first place. So there really is no real loss from bootlegs no matter what these billionaires try to tell you. In fact there is a good chance they will actually see profit from it, they are just to concerned with the small picture to see it.
I really want to see the alternative ending. I really was rooting for Rocky to go out on a winning note. I hope that there is a way to have the alternative ending play at the end instead of having to use the special features button. I don't want to see the ending they used in the theater just the alternative one.

:coolclick: Thats the way I feel exactly. I own all of the Rocky movies in a special boxset from Amazon, just like I've bought all the Lord Of The Rings Extended editions, every single David Attenborough series, all of Michael Palin's stuff, Simon Schama's History of Britain, all the series of the Simpsons currently on DVD etc.
If it's something I like and it's quality I will buy it, but honestly most of the shit these studios churn out, it's criminal to charge you in the first place.

I really need to master my ability of speaking toungue-in-cheek, and conveying that in what I say on the forum. Maybe there could be a smiley with a hold to the side of the nose with the toungue poking out perhaps? Or just one of those sign smileys. :end:

Don't be silly I knew you was joking. I mean come on you don't really think I would happily aid the Islamics in blowing themselves up for a quick buck do you? :hubbahubba:
Re: Anyone seen the alternate Rocky ending?
I thought it would have been a much better ending to not even here the final scorecard. Rockys already left the ring and is on his way out of the arena as the first two judges cards are read and I just thought it would have been cool for him to actually walk out as the last score is announced, not really caring if he won or not.

Not quite, I meant it would of been cool if we never heard the result.

But that would have denied us to the satisfaction of seeing Antonio Tarver desperately cheering his narrowest of wins over an aging former great, years out of his prime, who would have absolutely battered him if the two had met when his opponent was at his best.
Personally I thought Tarver played that role extrememly well, almost like he had had actual life experience :D
