Let us not forget Momo Sissoko!
Did you ever notice more of the "flamboyant" countries' players dive like that: Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Ghana flopped anytime a US defender got near them in the cup......I mean that's what I have noticed personally
Guys like Cristiano Ronaldo are the problem!
Re: y im starting to prefere rugby to football
i used to play rugby and would watch it over footie any day. i think i've grown out of football, it just pisses me off watching it most of the time for the exact reason that you boys just said. all the dramatics and dives do my head in. watchin em role around on the floor holding their leg untill the magic sponge comes on or the ref gives a free kick. too annoying.
Re: y im starting to prefere rugby to football
Footballers are good athletes, but the culture within the game is one of cheating by trying to con the referee. I get really frustrated by watching them falling and diving all over the place, not to mention always complaining about the ref and trying to get fellow pros sent off or booked. The managers inflame the situation by indulging in stupid squabbles and spats a la Ferguson and Mourinho, and domeone like Arsene Wenger probably typifies everything that is culturally wrong with the game ....... a great great football man but with a massive character defect.
Then there are the problems of overpaid footballers (and when a plodder in the third division can pull down £70k a year, they are overpaid) with too much time on their hands making bad headlines in the press.
Rugby is the more honest sport, with proper contact and a code of honour that is still largely intact. Yes, there is cheating, but it seems to be infringement of the rules rather than trying to con a referee into doing something to your opponent.
Somebody said in the 19th Century that football was a game for gentlemen played by thugs, whereas rugby os a game for thugs played by gentlemen.
As a Welsh rugby fan, I feel bitterly disappointed by this years 6 nations .......... but I still support the team and can accept that it was not the referees fault every time we get beat (unlike some footballing people)
