Gatti should just retire. :-\
I hope Gatti manages to get the win and go out on a high. He's been one of boxing's greatest warriors of the past 10 years so he deserves a farewell fight and last hurahh in my opinion.
It would be nice if after the fight some of his greatest opponents could get in the ring with him and salute him like Basillio, Turpin et all did with Ray Robinson,
Although in Gatti's case all of his best opponents kicked his ass so maybe not such a good idea after all :-\ :P
Whooooooooo cares. Gatti was one of boxing's greatest warriors. Now he's a shot fighter whose pride continues to lower his IQ with every punch he can't get out of the way of.
Agreed. Gatti should try and take the win and then leave it there...he has been great for the sport but his time is almost up...Quote:

He must be doing this one for drinking money...
I definitively understand that Gatti doesn't want to go out with a loss like the one against
Baldomir...It just wouldn't be right after that career...
I really hope he knocks that guy(haven't heard of him...how is he ?!?) out and then announces
his retirement in the after-fight press-conference...
But I wouldn't be shocked or mad if continues just a bit longer...
I got a sneaky suspicion that him and Coralles may get it on before the year's out.Quote:

Call me crazy but I'd actually like to see it and last December I actually listed it in my top 10 fights I'd like to see in 2007.
It doesn't really matter if two fighters arn't at the top level, if they are excting to watch it's still a great fight and I'd wager Coralles Gatti as a PPV event would outsell most of the other fights this year.
Okay...man you are crazy... ;D But I like the way you think and not only that...I also agreeQuote:

I'm am rooting for A Gatti all the way. He is one of my favorite boxers. To me Gatti should though retire. He's lost fight against Carlos Baldmoir. Really he did a rookie mistake. I love the fact he was trying to please the crowd but you can do that and get knocked you. Which did and happend. Gatti is a great crafty boxer no doubt. A brawler with a heart. Something like the Boxing Ryu. Really though Gatti is too washed up. Hey though Gatti is beign trained now by Pernal Witaker (Sorry if i mispelled his last name) So you never know? They are freinds and i hope this aint a waste of time. Gatti should of insted fought Diego Corrales(Sorry if i mispelled his last name) I mean he is climing up in Ranks and i would love to see this fight. I pay 24.95 for it. Diego would get knocked out. Which he is against I forgot his name. The guy that fougth Cotto and i think won the first 5 rounds till his hand got broken.
Gatti is still a good fighter imo. I mean he's not bad. He's still got good skills and very good speed and everything but the fact that he can't make 140 should be a wake up call for him. He didn't have much power to begin with but Baldomir took some clean shots and barely blinked. He just doesn't have the power to beat many more.
But Santana you would think be a guy he can get out of there.
Boxing should be grateful to have watched Gattti the past 8 or 9 years, he's made his money but from the Everlast interview with him boxing really is his life. Maybe he can be a trainer or something? I wold hate to see him in the ring for to much longer :-\
come on atruro. he didnt look that bad in his last outing against baldomir. there were glimmers of the old gatti but the shots just bounced off baldy. hopefully gatti will make 140 and i dont think he will be that bad. good luck to him.
Now that hes not with McGirt he will fight differently imo. For better or worse. McGirt brought the best out of him and developed his boxing skills and footwork. Without him he may resort more to his brawling style more frequently which would not be a good thing for him at this point
Man do i hate to say this, because i do like Arturo.
Floyd nailed this one on the head, though, when he called Arturo a "club fighter", a "C" fighter. You put Arturo up against someone gritty like himself (Ward) and he puts on a hell of a show, and he has has alot of heart. Against meaningful opposition, he has always been blasted the F out.
