Just seen Povetkin Fight. Im impressed!
After reading Lyle's thread i realised that id grossly disregarded the flood of eastern European fighters over the last few years.
Just Youtubed "Povetkin" and found his fight against Bostice.... Good stuff! Not much of a world beater but he seems to have a great attitude, very menacing. Might be one-dimensional but works fairly hard.
Kinda reminds me of Jirov on LSD ;D
Also, i managed to watch Sultan Igbowotsit against Whittaker. Again, i like what i see. Hard working, slick'n' cagey lefty. His fight against Briggs should be interesting, not really sure if Sultans mantal or physical toughness has really been tested as yet.
Im currently trying to convince my self that watching Ruslan Chagaev fight John Ruiz is not going to end up in me flaking out embarrasingly at work ??? any advice?
Re: Just seen Povetkin Fight. Im impressed!
I think hes a good prospect, has good power and likes to scrap it out.....
If he can continue to develop his power and work on his skills for the better he should be able to make a name for himself....
I would like to see him fight Dimitrenko, as I think Dimitrenko is over hyped/overrated and I think Povetkin can take him out.....
Re: Just seen Povetkin Fight. Im impressed!
Dimitrenko doesn't have the power to be a successful heavyweight
Povetkin is supposedly the next "big thing" for the division....people said he could have beaten WBC title contender Peter Okhello AND WBC title holder Maskaev.
Ruslan Chagaev and Sultan Ibragimov are dangerous fighters but in my view are limited

Yup! his power is no good plus his skills aren't tha good either. You can only decision up to a certain caliber of fighters after that once you reach the top dawgs!! your gonna need some KO's.....
Re: Just seen Povetkin Fight. Im impressed!
I think Fritz Sdunek and Universum wanted another Wladimir Klitschko and Dimitrenko certainly fit the bill with his size.... his athletic skill is decent but he's no Wladimir.....and he doesn't have good defense, he doesn't have good power, and without that power you'll find it difficult to keep true contenders off of you with just a jab and handspeed.

I think for his size his power is pretty good and he got a nice left hook...and he only did 11 fights so far...
But he isn't either trained by Fritz Sdunek(Valery Belov is his trainer...never heard of him) nor is he managed by Universum Box Promotion (his managers are Vlad Hrunov & Wilfried Sauerland)...

Not a problem Johnny,
You gotta be careful there with Lyle cause hes known to turn things around and go in circles when hes debating. ;)
I got'em all figuered out..... 8)
;D Only kidding mate....
Re: Just seen Povetkin Fight. Im impressed!
I honestly think hes the whole package. I just hope they dont rush him to a title fight. He only has 11 fights(9 inside the distance) so experience is not on his side. He needs more fights against guys like Bostace imo. He needs to fight the experienced veterans so he can learn a thing or two

Let me tell you something motherfucker!!!!
Nah that's cool, I would have done the same thing, simple misunderstanding. I only get upset when people don't use rational thought to express their opinions on fighters and so on.
