could tim witherspoon have been a great ??
his fight against holmes was excellent he showed great skills and lost very close decision which could of gone his way i heard don king screwed him and ruined his talent but just say he wouldnt of had problems with king could he have been great ??

tim witherspoon always reminded me of ken norton but with better chin and i loved way he danced like ali in that holmes fight for like 20 seconds and even switching southpaw while he was doing it that was damn impressive he made holmes look quite foolish in some parts and im big holmes fan and i scored it draw if i remember right that witherspoon that night would of gave alot of heavyweights trouble imo i heard king ruined him though and he was constantly getting out of shape like he was against bruno

He had Holmes in all kinds of trouble (round 9?), Holmes did well to the last the round
yea he had holmes out on his feet in that round but it was just his boxing skill impressed me he was so damn good that night and holmes was still good at that time aswell he was making holmes miss alot of jabs with that crab like defense and when he danced and made holmes look foolish i was like huh ?? is this same witherspoon that was fat and struggled against bruno i couldnt believe it mate

i remember watching joe bugner against greg page. bugner totally outclassed him and page complained that he was robbed.

in witherspoons prime he would of made good arguement against tyson but when tyson was in his prime 86 to 88 witherspoon was starting to get fat and lazy so im glad he didnt fight tyson then but id loved to of seen him fight tyson when he was in his prime

As a 35 year old guy who is the same weight as when i was 18 and boxing i find any athlete who comes into the ring flabby a disgrace / lazy etc.
Although i agree with you guy id have loved to see Spoon v Tyson but Mr Smith stopped that 1 for us :)

Its funny when iv read this thread, as i came on to start a thread about who would of been the best between witherspoon and Tyson.well Tyson fought all the top ten contenders of that era bar witherspoon,they wreckon witherspoon loved big antirages like tyson and he witherspoon also loved the high life and when king sees a boxer wasting his doller he thinks ok ill just take a slice of there purses as there just wasting it anyhow,king done it with both the fighters which is wrong but back to who would of been the man between them,well i dont think witherspoon would of stoPped tyson in the eightys.NO man was stopping mike on his quest to becoming undifeated or undisputed champ at that time.imo.

Tim Witherspoon was a great fighter in my opinion . I really like him ! O0 He is currently working with Chazz Witherspoon... I think this kid Chazz will easily be the cream of the crop out of this new breed of HW , His power is improving. Chazz has a great spirit and high determination, reminds me alot of Riddick Bowe in shape ,chazz can fight well on the inside and out , he keeps the offense going ! O0
