Wladimir, what do you think about that glove dispute that Don King started right after the weight in? Do you think it was Don King's attempt to get to you…with his threats of pulling out of a fight and so on… or was it really about the gloves?


Wladimir replied
It was a well thought out deliberate attempt by Don King to put pressure on me. However as you can see all his efforts were in vain. I was disappointed that after all those statements made before the fight, neither Don King nor any member of their team was present at the post fight press conference. This can only speak about his personality…he quietly packed his flags and disappeared.

Also when Wlad dissed Ray Austin that was pretty funny too. "Ray was very sharp in his criticisms but perhaps he should have focused a little more on the fight".

Actually have to say I'm warming to Wlad more and more. If he didn't have those losses on his record, all of which he could easily reverse I think people would be arguing his place amongst the greats.

He's still only 30 as well so just think what he can do over the next 5 years.

Cool deal...yeah I think Wlad's dry humor is refreshing...it shows fighters don't have to be all bravado and in your face they can be intelligent and witty.

I'm glad you're coming around to Wlad. I think he's a good fighter and he and his brother have brought a new edge to boxing, being more than just athletes they give to the world, donating ticket sales to build schools in Africa and shit. It's great stuff, they are really good people.

Lyle I liked that. You know I thought of you the other day when I was watching the fight. Who would have thought that we would be cheering for a Russian fighter over an American??? I don't feel bad at all though. Wlad is a great man and will be a great American.

I am sure he will or has already gotten his citizenship. The irony is that Don King is an awful man. If he really cared about his country he would try to help people instead of screwing them. Waving a flag around doesn't take up for the bad things he has done. Wlad really tries to help people. That is all I am saying.
