Re: IFL..anyone watch it?
Not able to watch here in the Uk but will catch it when it appears on the net.
Bas Rutten has been raving about Chris Horodecki. He mentioned him in an interview. Expect big things from that kid
Re: IFL..anyone watch it?
i'll watch it if it's on but i certainly don't go out of my way to find it.
the chris horodecki kid, isn't he the canadian from london, ON?
Re: IFL..anyone watch it?
btw, Van... interesting how you mentioned how good his striking is... IMO, good stand-up will always beat good ground. ;)
Re: IFL..anyone watch it?
your such a smartass Von ::** Quit instigating and getting me all riled up:banghead:
His striking is very good, but in his last fight against another top IFL LW his ability to takedown the other guy was what sealed the deal. Whats so impressive to me is how talented he is at 19. Something a guy with such a mancrush on Tyson should appreciate ;)
I swear once I'm back in shape I'm driving to Michigan and we are throwing down. You read it here first I'm calling out the best left hook in the midwest :boxingmatch: Calling it right now TKO victory by Big V from a brutal knee to the face
Re: IFL..anyone watch it?
Haha...I'd pay to see that....but which "Big V" is gonna get the TKO?
More on topic, I love seeing guys like Horodecki. He's the kind of kid who was raised to fight MMA, it seems, not to fight one art, then learn the rest. A LOT more people like him will start showing up soon. I mean...MMA as we know it didn't really exist until the mid 90s.
Imagine when the young kids today grow up, having watched and trained MMA their whole life...it's almost scary how good some of these kids will be when they grow up. I can wait until it happens....if MMA can survive that long, I wouldn't be too surprised to see it explode and really snuff out boxing AND pro wrestling and become one of the premiere sports in the country, let alone world. This stuff is already huge overseas, and it's caught on in the younger generations here big time. Once they start having kids and raising them as MMA fans, it's gonna be scary.
Re: IFL..anyone watch it?
Van, you've never experienced a body shot like mine. You'll wish you were back in Afghanistan. ;D
and the knees... you're a stand-up guy now? not gonna throw me into a kimura or traingle? :D
Re: IFL..anyone watch it?
taking you down and submitting would be like taking candy from a baby :rofmaoal:
I've been meaning to really put my MT to the test or maybe I'll just use some good old GNP...so many choices when your a well rounded combatant ;D
Re: IFL..anyone watch it?
I've been watching IFL for pretty much the entire time they've been on TV. I like the ruleset, I like the usage of a ring and I like how the team format means you can care about second-tier guys. Also some of the fighters are very entertaining. However, I can't see it surviving long term for some reason.
Re: IFL..anyone watch it?
i don't much about MMA fights but i have seen a few ifl matches and they were more entertaining then other MMA fights i've. i seen more punches and kicks thrown instead of a grappling.
i've also seen smaller guys on the IFL. on other MMA fights it's always big guy who aren't that fast. these little guys they have on IFL are fun to watch. I'm no purist so what do i know.
Re: IFL..anyone watch it?
I've seen it on a few times but for the most part I haven't seen 1 full show....
For some reason I just can't get into it....
Re: IFL..anyone watch it?
here's my official rankings of worst to not the worst
Worst:IFL hands down
ufc
k-1
and Pride wins the title of "most likely for me to watch if i was threatened with a vesectimy and my alternative punishment was watching an mma match"
Re: IFL..anyone watch it?
Are you refering to K1 Heroes or just their kickboxing? I wouldn't put K1 Heroes before UFC. Its not even close. On a side note: why come to a MMA forum to tell us how much you dislike the sport? Why come at all?
Re: IFL..anyone watch it?
The question stated has anyone watched it so allow me to elaborate. I've watched a few episodes and i think a team aspect for individual combat sports is a bad idea unless its the olympics. IFL has a very amateurish feel to it. K-1 and ufc both aren't that great either. I'm saying i'm not even a casual mma fan but if there's nothing else on tv and all 4 of them have shows on, i'm watching a pride fight because pride generally has the better fighters who are more technically solid.
Re: IFL..anyone watch it?
IFL entertains me but i don't follow MMA like you guys. I'm a boxing purist.
