Fight Night Round 4 Delayed!

It's kind of odd that NOTHING has been "officially" announced for Rd4. It's been over a year since Rd3 was released on 2-20-06. EA "officially" announced details about Rd3 on 12-12-05 and then De La Hoya as the cover athlete on 1-4-06. Recently announced was the next cover athlete for NCAA 08 but that game is still months away. It's been speculated that Mayweather will be the next cover athlete for Rd4. Most EA Sports titles are just yearly releases with enhanced graphics and added features from the previous year. It's hard to believe that Rd4 is not nearly complete and ready to be shipped. Why all the silence? It's possible that the upcoming De La Hoya (Rd3 cover) vs. Mayweather (rumored Rd4 cover) fight on 5-5-07 could have EA acting reluctant on providing any information on it's next round. There are possible repercussions if EA announces details and releases Rd4 before the fight, with Mayweather on the cover. For one it could be viewed as negative if Hoya wins. EA might be in Mayweathers corner to win this fight. If so Mayweathers camp or EA might not be comfortable and have mutually agreed to not make any "official" announcements on Rd4, for superstitious cover jinx and training schedule reasons, until after the fight. Like Rd3 with approximately a 2 month time frame from "official" announcement to release, expect Rd4 on or before 7-7-07. Also it is being delayed to help sells of the just release of FN3 for PS3.

PUT BOTH ON THE COVER!!!
No Jinx, No issues, no problem
and both win with the advertisement.
EA won't lose if one gets KO'd (a la Buster Douglas after Holyfield blasted him)

I was speaking to a guy on the Xbox forum a while back (the guy writes for fightnews.com and is a freaking beast on Rainbow6 & Fight Night ;D) and he reckoned that the huge delay on the development of Round4 is becaue of Round3 being re-vamped and re-marketed for the release of the PS3.

With the PS3 comming out today in the UK i reckon we wont see Round4 till March '08.

No way should Hatton be the cover. It would make alot of people mad. Not that I don't like him personally, but he isn't a big enough name. Anyways I think that they should start trying to make the game with current fighters. I know that helps get names out there in football. You can add a few legends, but actually but Wladimir Klischtko, Calzaghe, Kessler, Margaritto, Mosley instead of the guys who like Larzano or crap like that. They have closer to 50 guys in the game if you ask me.

i think a legends game would be pretty cool. id rather have 50 legends than 10 current guys on a game.

I agree with this. Personally, I'd prefer to fight with guys from the current era. I think you should have the option on whether or not you wish to use modern day fighters or legends or both.

I would also like a realistic career mode, with option to jump between weights and would like to have a little more training to make weight. I would also like more titles, e.g. a domestic title, national title, intercontinental or a continental title, just to have a more realistic path of making it to the world title. I also personally would like to know what is going on around my division like in round 2 so you can see who beats who and who the contenders are. Realism is the key.

Things like this will get people interested in boxing.

Tito is Retire put him on the cover. OR put PBF OI hope he gets Jinxs. Love his boxing but hate his attitude

I just hope they improve the game on the xbox 360... It had great graphics, but technically it was horribly made.

Very unusual of EA to be that slack and miss out on a yearly update and massive cash making opportunity :)

I only play EA games but they are making me mad first this Fight Night's game they took out their replay controled by the user so we could see combinations and stuff and then they they put that ridicoulous punch KO you how they like to brag about their graphics witch I hated it. All this paring is ridiculous

Since 2005 then havne't made a decent baseball game because of the MLB thing that happenned
