OMG!!!! Hatton to face GATTI!!!

Ricky's little brother Matthew Hatton has been put on the shortlist of fighters who could face all action fan favourite Arturo Gatti later in the year.

I was so surprised when I saw this I nearly choked on my muffin! Personally I think Matthew would be outmatched if he gets it, although if he can keep up the discipline of his last performance could avoid getting finished early on. If it was Ricky getting this fight it would make for a superb battle, but Matthew is a little more conservative...but this would be a great way for him to get out of his brother's shadow.
Let's hope they make it!

Gatti is still fighting Edgar Santanna first right? I think he'll stop Santanna.

I've never seen the younger Hatton. Is he similar to Ricky?

At this point, I think a stiff wind will push Gatti over so sight unseen I'm locked in for MH.

What is Gatti gonna do when he kicks this guys ass and then Ricky Hatton wants to fuck him up for it? Is he gonna be like awww...no that's ok. I fought your little brother because I knew i could win...I don't want to fight you. This makes Gatti look like a pussy. He should fight top guys or retire if he can't compete at that level because he's making himself out to be a joke.

Remember this is a professional sport not a hobby so usually it is about the money above anything else. From a promotion stand point it would make absolute sense to fight mathew HATTON.`If the younger brother got KTFO imagine how much coin a Arturo Gatti v Ricky Hatton PPV would generate. It only takes one good win these days to put you back in the mix. ;)

I know bro....i put that headline up there to wind people up. No matter that Hatton has the Castillo fight signed, sealed and delivered, the idea still makes you get shivers down the spine right? It does me. Anyhow, I do agree with some of your points, but then again, we all got to make a living, and if Gatti prefers three or four smaller fights where he won't get hurt, to one big one where he might get pulverised, then you got to sympathise with that. He's been in a lot of real wars, and deserves a gimme or two which he hasn't had before.

What a strange fight...I never saw this one in the pipeline!!

Gatti should have enough to beat the younger Hatton...may very well go to the late rounds. Perhaps Gatti is sticking around, this as a precurser to a bigger fight?! :-\

I really want Gatti to retire, I love the guy and he has given a lot...but he has been in too many wars!

Agreed 100% Little bro has fought nobody. They have done a good job making his record appear good but if you look at who he has fought the are all d level competition. Complete mismatch that shouldnt even happen for Hattons sake.

he hasnt got the work rate or ferocity of ricky and he's more of a boxer. i rate his right hand as better than ricky's but he generaly doesnt bang as hard as ricky. and i dont judge gatti as that shot. he still showed glimers of the old gatti in his last outing.

I don't think so...It sets up an opportunity for Gatti to get a huge payday for Ricky....Who wouldn't want to see a big brother fighting to avenge his younger brother's beat down? Plus, it would be awesome to see Gatti whip the whole Hatton family..:)
